I was just trying to read up on the current barb builds(quit for a couple years, and just starting up again). Has anyone gone with a conc/zerk build? It looks like it should be effective, but boring and slow as hell. Anyone? Comments? FYI, I play HC exclusively.

grr...I posted a reply but my browser timed out.
The short version:

Got an untwinked HC one on the go right now (act 1 hell) & it's been very easy. I'm going the PDR route (integer PDR, not DR%)

If I were to rebuild him (which I probably would) I'd go with:

Battle Orders: 20
Battle Cry: 20 (yes, 20! ~50% DR before PDR kicks in is huge, effectively halving the amount of PDR gear needed)
Concentrate: 20
Berzerk: 20

Rest would be scattered between a mastery/synergy to zerk/1-pt wonders.

Killspeed is an issue for my guy, but only because I haven't yet found a decent 2-hander (playing untwinked)

It's definitely doable, but yeah, probably pretty boring. I've got a couple different WW/Zerk hybrids that kicks butt -- they smash through IM areas like any other area -- and are more fun to play.

The cool thing bout WW is that you don't need to sink 20 points (only 100+% ED) in it to be effective.

9 fpa zerk isn't too bad at all. With higher end gear you'll be killing everything very quickly wheras untwinked HC you'll be using the barb's full range of utility to survive (taunt, howl, warcry, leap...). Either way pretty fun to play. Zerk barbs are perfectly designed for running bosses like nihlathak or Diablo, with the maxed howl, no need to worry about random immunities, very high damage single target attack and barbs' naturally high fcr for effective teleing. For me they're the true assassins of D2. The way conc's are setup makes for less engaging play imo.

With good gear you can get a barb with 8 k health and about 75 pdr teleing at 110 fcr and still outputting around 50k+ single target dps.
