View Full Version : Losing Items
Okay, well I'm a smiter and I have a very low ammount of strength. I rely on my items to give me strength for other items, but what I've noticed is that when i die, many of my items are taken off and put into my inventory. I'm not positive if this WILL happen so I'm asking in advance...
If I have no room for the items that are taken off and put into my inventory when I am slain, will I...
A)"Pop"
B)Lose the items permanently
C)Other.(Please state what will happen instead)
I'll just sit tight and wait for a response, but I'm really scared now that i thought of this >_<
Thanks.

Well i assume its becuase some of your items are too high strength until your other items give you the strength(i have that problem)
And i can assure you no items will be lossed or dropped out
Your inventory will fill up as much as possible, but your corpse will still be there until you free up room and click it again
this is how that works and im sure of it

To the OP: If you need the str/dex bonus from one of the pieces of gear to equip that same piece of gear, don't try to loot your body. Leave the game and rejoin.
That seems like a problem.
Maybe in the next version of Diablo 2 they could make a stash that your items are put into when you die, something that you could withdraw items from, but not put things into.
They obviously won't do that, but it'd be nice to have some sort of fix on this problem.

ive seen two bodies get carried over before
well the best thing i can suggest is to not die, lol
Repeat, you will not ever lose items from dying

ive seen two bodies get carried over beforeReally? There's no mechanism in the game to save a second corpse between games. There's no place for the data to go.
I am convinced that only one corpse (the one which has more valuable items - in gold) is transferred.
You should notice that when you are picking up the corpse, you are first equipping helm, then armor, then left, right weapon...I think, not sure about the rest ^^
So I always plan my chars to have: base str + charms = str req of helm, or whatever, so I can pickup all items from the corpse at once. My basestr necro has no problem :)

I thought this was the case as well. Had a right go at my brother after telling him not to attack last night as he killed me and then killed me again after breaking my eni and left me with two corpses. Made him go and procuse a ral so I could repair. I wasnt going to take the risk of losing my items.

I dont think that applies anymore? Could be wrong though.
