View Full Version : Problem With Temp Restrictions
Your connection has been temporarily restricted from this realm. Please try to log in at another time.
That's the message AT THE CHARACTER screen, I've gotten this a few times before, but I don't know why, it's usually a wait 10 minutes and it's good thing, this time it's been nearly two hours. Any ideas?

This is not a ban. It's a restriction. Meaning it's not my cdkey, nor my account, I'm am restricted from the realm. It isn't my Ip Address either.

No, YOUR confused IT ISNT MY IP ADDRESS! It's over now, but I reset my ip twice and no dice. Again, your the ones who are confused.

Believe me, this is your regular tempban. You do view the Characterscreen, but it gives that message. And I think it bans both your CD-key and IP-adress.

The fact I've stated many times it's not my key/ip is kind of sad tbh.

So, let's do this from scratch.
1. You couldn't access your account on a certain Realm.
2. You received a message that you were temporarily restricted from that Realm.
3. You regained acces later on.
1+2+3= can't be anything but a tempban
Ps. How'd you know it's not your CD-key then?
I have two. I tried both.
Maybe you are behind NAT. If you are then it doesnt matter if you change your computer's IP, the Blizzard's servers will see your computer's IP as the NAT's outer IP address which doesnt change at all when you change computer's IP.

Wth is NAT? If you mean a router, I unplugged that.

Sometimes the IP you had last is remembered by the system, and it rehooks you up with the same IP. It's also possible that it cleared out the IP, but then assigned the same IP back to you, as it was now available.

From what I can tell, when I get Temp Banned I usually wait one hour from the time I can't log on. It always seems to work fine if I do this. However, it seems that however many times you reach the Temp Ban screen you should add another hour before you try to get on again. For instance, you log on and you're Temp Banned at 4:00 then you try again to log on at 4:10. If I were you I wouldn't try to log on again until 6:10.
This is just how it seems to work for me though. I always go by this now.
Friend of mine has to have zero net use for 24 hours to get a new IP addy.
It doesn't have to be a tempban. There are plenty of answers.... I logged out 7 hours ago, or I mean, I got this restricted message and just woke up, still same problem. If you check at blizzard sites it says
- Rapidly connecting and disconnecting to Battle.net
- This is generally caused by connection or networking issues. If you are disconnected, we suggest you wait 5-10 minutes before reconnecting to Battle.net.
- You can check our Connection Issues page for help with disconnections.
- Creating or joining numerous games within a short time period
- Common causes include muling, magic finding, Baal/Pindleskin runs, and in some cases rapid actions within the game itself. If you stay in each game longer you should be able to avoid the restriction. Generally 10 minutes per game is fine.
- Rapidly swapping characters in and out of games.
And I did very very fast baal runs when it happend... Btw it happend maybe 5 times yesterday, while baalrunning.

I hate this thing I really do. Get it at least two three times a day. When you Baal run you can't wait in a game for 10 minutes or you would miss out on like two or three runs. And someimes I sit in a priv game with my friends and click to xitand it'll realm me.

Well since it can be caused by having to many progrems up in the background... That's a very strange thing to get a temp!BAN! for...
I wouldn't use the word ban, but that's me. But we are probably have the same point.
And Hey read this:
"If this issue does not resolve itself after 3 days, please reply back with your account name, realm, and a time frame of how long you have been experiencing this issue. Please be aware we are not able to remove these restrictions."

hi all.
is there a problem with bnet last few days. as im resrticted again twice this week and as but temp ban its not possible i use no hacks or cheats of any kind plus there is 3 of use in the house that play with 3 original copies of the game and we all restricted, also the ip not banned as i have a friend in over 100 miles away and he restricted also then to add to that i also have another friend in America who is also restricted so it seems to us that the problem is blizzard.
there is no possible way it can be temp ban. unless its a mass temp banning for no apparent reason.

Well I'm restricted aswell... Have been restricted 12-14 hours aday in 4 days if this one continues more than 3 hours more... So it's sucks very hard. This time I didn't get why tho, I was outtabbed to windows for 20-30mins, tabbed back in to the game, join a game I thought was a baalrun but it was empty so I left, then I heard a CLING in my headset and I went logged out. Tried to log back on and there it is, the lovely message.

got this message about an hour ago...was currently doing baal runs...hopefully it doesn't take long
