Well, was making my first Pal, and going for Hammerdin.

Hammerdin costs 85 points, if you include HS...and prereqs...that's 88 points.

That leaves 22 points I believe.

And my current Pal spent those on 20 Sacrifice and 2 Zeal.

Problems is...I probably wont go past lvl 90, so that really means I should have maxed Hammer skills before any support skills.

Sacrifice and Zeal sure did own in normal...even as low as 5 points in Zeal and 2 in sacrifice with + 2 skills owned.

I just realized...I wont be using Zeal when my Hammers do high dmg...so seems like a waste of points for a skill I wont use except for Magic Immunes...and there is only Bob that is MI in Act 3 and his bother is Baal runs :P

Anyways...question is for those who have maxed all hammer skills...what did you do with the rest?

I like to put 1 point into cleansing. Incase I will be helping people uber level.

I like to put 1 point into redemption. This is always usefull because your merc will die alot in chaos runs leaving you without a merc. I personally don't even like to use a merc with my h'din.

The rest I just try and max out holy shield. After that is maxed the rest goes into defiance.

id max holy shield and defiance like zallus said, dont forget redemption and cleansing, which can come in handy for those nasty curses and pois dm

Forget about Hammers altogether. A Zealot is more fun to play and is better than a Hammerdin in every possible way. Even though Hdins can do more damage, don't fall to IM and have very few immunes... Zealots are far more stylish!!

But yeah, if you want to make a Hammerdin, remake your Paladin now. Hammerdins don't have any points in Sacrifice or Zeal at all.

but they can...that's the thing. with 110 points available...u can max hammer skills and still have 20 in sacrifice and 2 in Zeal, and u can own those MIs.

Only problem is...this assumes u'll get to level 99...

and I'd rather have a maxed hammer dmg at level 80 than 99.

So, I'm remaking...:)

after maxing symergies, go for HS or resist lightning if you do not want to equip thundergod/don't have cta and get owned by souls :X

also you'd be better at making zealot from that guy, assuming you haven't started investing any points in anything yet. if you did..oh well remake.

also don't need zeal to deal with MI. you got smite.

Hahaha. True. Zealots are far more stylish. I never seem to get far with my Hammerdins before getting soooo bored. At least Zealots have a more varied playstyle and some danger/excitement involved. And you can make a lot of different viable Zealot variants.

Yeah...but everybody talks of Hammerdins like the are the gods of D2 and own everything in sight...so I had to try one :P

And it's nice being able to solo for once and own too.
