View Full Version : Girls and TVs. Hurray!
Well not really a hurray. First off, I'd like to talk about a situation developing, or not, in my life, a sort of crazy triangle of love. So I've been dating this girl, ABC, for...14 months now. She's been great and all, but sometimes she can be really bossy, and incredibly passive aggressive, pretty much without the passive. She nearly always finds a reason to yell at me, which she does in public, and my friend always seem to be around, and "whipping" and talk about me being her ***** ensues. Now, this girl definitely loves me more than I love her, but she's just...difficult, and high maintenance sometimes. She's bright and pretty down to earth, she's just really moody and touchy a lot. Enter DEF. DEF was in my Bio class for a month or two before she dropped, but she's insanely cute and really nice and all those good things. So basically, I have a crush on DEF, while still going out with ABC, and I'm not quite sure why I'm posting this, but yeah. I don't know, I'm seriously thinking about leaving ABC, but DEF also has a boyfriend, GHI, who is 3 years older than us(grrreat!), and we don't know each other very well. However, if I dumped ABC, she'd be really sad and angry and stuff, and I don't really want to cause that, especially since it would accomplish nothing on the DEF front, unless I killed GHI:evil: . Comment, suggest, laugh at my pathetic life, whatever, just wanted to get it off my chest.
Secondly, I'm thinking about buying myself an LCD TV, but I'm going off to college next year, and don't know what size/model I should get. I've been thinking 20-26" would be good, but I'm not sure what my best bet would really be. Any input is appreciated, I plan on spending a max of 700$.

Man, if I were you, it seems like the reason I wouldn't break up with ABC is because she'd kick my ***. :shocked:

Skip the TV and use the money to buy beer. You'll have more fun, I promise.
LCD/TV + Halo 3 + TV = Whole is worth more than its parts.
@Module: That's not really what she's like, she's just really annoying and controlling a lot. And it seems very insecure, as if she sees me with another girl, she'll be very cold. Not mean, just...detached.

Dump the drama because that's a lifetime of ***. She *wants* it to be obscenely hard to break up with her (because of all her insecurities). My advice, drop ABC, take a chance with DEF, and if nothing happens, watch LCD till something less high maintenence comes along.

I bought an Xbox while I was in college, but all I went to school with was my PC. My roommate had an Xbox, though.
I don't see anything wrong with taking a gaming system to school, especially if it has a DVD player. And the TV would probably also act as a monitor for the computer if it was a desktop. By the way, the absurd amount of acronyms in this thread are fun, keep them up.
We'll see what happens on the alphabet front. It'll be interesting to see what happens as college comes closer. ABC has already committed to BC(ironic.) for rowing, so who knows, a school say...in california might warrant an early break up, due to the strain of long distance relationships. Or at least that's what she'll hear from me.

I don't see anything wrong with taking a gaming system to school, especially if it has a DVD player.
There's nothing really wrong with it. It's just that your first year of college is a good time to get out and do a whole lot of things. Seems a waste to stay inside playing video games all the time. It's rather like going to a nice tropical island for a vacation and then staying inside all day.

If she's as controlling/*****y as you make her come off as, I don't see why you're still with her anyway.
I can't stand to see guys with a stuck up, controlling, tempermental woman. I have a friend who is in more or less the same situation, and it's just pathetic seeing them together, he isn't happy at all.
So like I said, if you aren't happy, why drag it out?

If you don't want to be with ABC then dump her, but don't expect to get DEF, since she isn't in the love triangle as she isn't interested in you.

Sounds like ABC has a case of PMS. Dump her ASAP, but be warned, DEF may be a relationship DOA as your emotions may be MIA. Besides, your switching the topic to talk about an LCD makes me think you may have ADD, which seems that LSD or THC could help - but you of course know that using them has to be on the DL or the FBI could get involved and you'll end up with a CO.

Nothing wrong with a woman having a little extra around. Curves are good. Women are supposed to have curves, not corners. But when the curves have curves then it starts looking like the ex and that's just nasty
