Hi all  I'm building an abbot/cleric and since I'm maxing FoH as a synergy for Holy Bolt, I thought I'd look into using conversion a bit. I was wondering if anyone knows where I could find some technical info about the skill. I've read the .09 Convertadin guide but didn't find everything I was looking for & wasn't sure if it was all still valid anyway. I'm not sure if there IS a technical document on Conversion's mechanics so if no one knows of one maybe someone can answer some of these questions for me:

1. Does a monster's max hp still become 1, when conversion wears off?
2. Does conversion work as chance on striking or chance on attacking?
3. Does thorns/fanat/etc still linger on the monster for a few seconds after conversion wears off?
4. Do curses you cast on enemies(like amp) affect the converted monster too or is he fully classed as your minion?
5. Are there any other interesting quirks about the skill that I don't know?

Hope someone out there knows. Seems like conversion might be a decent crowd control skill, w/some +skills of course. Thanx

Not sure, but from my experience.
1. Yes, if monster lvl is higher than your char lvl.
-> Conversion+Max game: Travi runs are cheasy/easy exp, until you lvl high enough.
At least with conviction aura.-> those converted ones kill council members just nicely. And make suicide after that.

2. I think every attack counts, so 95% attacks are good for conversion.

3. That bug is fixed

4. I think so.

5. That skill is godly in travincal and uber tristam for weaker chars.

Fixed.
2. Does conversion work as chance on striking or chance on attacking?
On attack, so the percentage listed is the absolute chance.

3. Does thorns/fanat/etc still linger on the monster for a few seconds after conversion wears off?
They last for two seconds after the last pulse (auras individually update once per two seconds)

4. Do curses you cast on enemies(like amp) affect the converted monster too or is he fully classed as your minion?
Its alignment is that of the act 5 barbs in Frigid. Not your minion, and not neutral either.

If you leave the game while you have converted monsters out, those monsters will be permanently converted, even when you rejoin.

The duration is rather short, so it won't offer that much crows control, and you need to attack each target about 3 times to get it converted.

Coupla breakpoints:
No weapon: 58 IAS for 7 fpa with fanat (+36%)
Phase Blade: 2 IAS for 8 fpa with fanat, 54 with no fanat (10 and 74 if you want the conversion to happen one frame earlier in the animation)

Conversion doesn't work on bosses, we know, and bosses are defined as a non-whitenamed target, such as champs, uniques, etc. Does Conversion work on Raise Skeleton, Raise Skeletal Mage, Revives, golems, and other already-converted monsters, i.e. whitenamed PvP minions?

Is this for real? I have to try it out!

RTB, are you sure you want to stick with your answer to #1?

I just made CLvl36 with a Defiance/Holy Shield/Smite/Thorns/Conversion build and tend to see a very low damage Smite one-hit previously converted monsters. Sometimes I have the cursor over one just as it converts back and very briefly see what appears to be its true remaining health, then it resets to a full bar before a single hit takes it down. These are naturally high-life act five monsters with a SLvl4 Smite and few points into HShield using a rare rondache and a Steel scimitar solely to have fast attack and open wounds for helping the mercenary.

I should be able to replicate it if you're on U. S. East, but I'm sure you could do the same if you still play and have the time to make a missionary.
