Im interested how good is his aura for drawing enemies to him. Do the enemies come to him or attack the party - when theyre drawed by his HFire.

i like using fire golem for that reason.he tends to attract the critters, then my skellies and merc jump all over 'em, pop a couple ce's and move on.

Monsters seem to prefer beating up on golems, for some reason. (Yes, the reason is in the gamecode, but you know what I mean).
The HF attracts the monsters' interest and they zero-in on good ol' Sparky. It isn't 100% effective, you and your other minions will receive some attention, but it can help.

I believe there is an actual mechanic that can be termed as how much the enemy "hates" certain opponents. For a summoner of any type, the amount of hate seems to be most for pets, then mercenaries, and then the summoner himself. However, due to the Fire Golem's Holy Fire, he will attract all the attention first, which will undoubtedly cause the enemy to be drawn to him even more.
I could be wrong about the "hate" mechanic, but I have noticed that a Fire Golem is a perfect (though not foolproof) method of drawing the enemy to one particular, disposable target.
Perfect for casting Corpse Explosion or Poison Explosion.

True. This is called the threat level of an opponent. Golems top out at 10 while Mercs, Skellies and the Necro have 9 IIRC. So enemies will tend to focus on the Golem.

Hmm anyone know how does Fire Golem's HFire pulse work with Dim Vision? Do the enemies still stay put & blinded?
