Hi,
Longtime friend is trying to play Diablo and LoD on his new Macbook using "Parallels" which if I understand correctly emulates Windows on a Mac. He said he enabled DirectX for parallels but still when he opens Diablo the only thing that appears is the "hourglass", no game.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance!

Why doesn't he just play it on his Apple OS?

d2 will install under Classic OS (OS 9.x) straight from the discs. or you can download the OS-X native installer from battle.net and run it in OS-X with no stress.
why use an emulator?
The problem most likely stems from the fact that parallels uses it's own video card emulator. *Most likely* this means that there is a lack of parallels support for whatever settings he is using. Not totally sure though, never tried it; no real reason to unless you want to be a loser and use hacks that only work on windows.
The other option would be to try boot camp; I've found that the boot camp video drivers are much, much better then parallels. I've tried running PC only games in parallels and often there are very strange graphical issues, either that or they don't work at all. They almost always run just fine in boot camp.
Still, why doesn't he just download the OS-X installer and run it in OS-X? Forget using windows...
