View Full Version : Hellforge doesn't spawn
As the title says the Hellforge thingy doesn't show up and neither is its keeper. What's going on, is this a common bug?

As the title says the Hellforge thingy doesn't show up and neither is its keeper. What's going on, is this a common bug? It's not common, but it is possible for specific map features to not exist on a specific map.
In multiplayer, the map is reset everygame, so if you join/create a new game, the Hellforge should be there.
In single player, maps are saved, but any of the following will delete your map:
Join an open b.net or tcp/ip game (note, some people may consider your character tainted just for entering an open b.net game).
Start diablo and enter a game with the -seed option enabled (note, do not play with the -seed option enabled, as it will mess with your drops)
Change difficulties
Delete the proper map file. Offhand, I don't know which it is.
That last one only removes what you can see of the map in the automap. The map itself is untouched, just not explored anymore.
Thanks for replying, I guess I'll just join a game and let my map get reset.

Had this happen to me once also. Starting a new game worked for me. Weird bug though.

I know this is a little off topic (sorry for asking) but I was wondering what the -seed option was, and how it messed with drops.
On topic, however, I was wondering what happens if you are in Normal difficulty, no access to the internet, and that happens. Is there a way around it, or are you screwed?
That actually matters to me, as once college starts again next week, I won't have regular un-firewalled, internet access.

Even if you don't have an internet connection you should be able to start a Tcp/ip game on your computer. No one would be able to join it , but it should still do the trick I think.

im not sure if this is the case here or not, however, have you explored the whole of the river of flame?
on some rov maps there is an area that looks exactly like the hellforge, with the raised dais and all but no forge and no hephasto. in this case keep looking and you will find the forge elsewhere on the map. dune
