Best MF Sorc

Just starting up D2 again and have a few advice questions...

I want to start a sorc solely for MFing, but am not sure which kind would be most efficient at killing Meph and Baal. I keep being told either blizzard or a light sorc. I've also read about ES builds for better survival, but that seems like it is more fitting for PvP and would also decrease my damage output by quite a bit. So my questions are: What kind of sorc does everyone recommend for those 2 bosses for MFing? and Should I go for max damage instead of a better survival build like ES? If I go for max damage, would I be better off with high HP, or going for max block rate.

For pure MFing Meph/Baal, either will do fine. Lightning is slightly tougher to play as, so pick based on your preferences. ES isn't necessary if you're only running bosses. Aim for 300-350 MF, then go for max damage. High HP has always served me well, and is probably the only possible way, assuming you use a spirit monarch.

I love the ES build, especially if you go light since it will get boosted futher by lightning skillers. A few things:

-Light sorcs must have infinity to be effective.
-Cold sorcs could get in to some serious problems since there will be cold immunes when running Baal.
-Putting an infinity on a cold sorc is pointless since few (any?) immunities are broken by it and you have the Cold Mastery against any non immune monsters.

So, if you have/can get an infinity, get a light sorc but if you can't build a blizz sorc and stick to Meph..

EDIT: A CL/orb hybrid will most likely work well too.. haven't played any - check the sticky for a guide/guides

^What he said...Also, look into a meteorber. Infinity is expensive, and you're starting again. Meteorbers are a very affordable alternative.

I once had a great MF blizz sorc...

Baal runs are a so easy if you have a good merc (preferable act2)

I wish I still had it that char...same with my zon...*sigh* oh well
