View Full Version : Countess not dropping any runes....? :s

Well its my first post and i'm starting with a question, so sorry for that. but i'm slightly confused as to why i never get runes from the countess and asking around and what not it seems to be the best way to get runes. well mid lvl runes. So any reason why i might not be getting them OR am i just mis informed about the whole rune thing?

Countess should be dropping rune very frequently. Low runes mostly but should still be very common. Never heard of countess not dropping runes before. Maybe you are always in games with a high number of people? More people in a game is actually detrimental to countess rune drops. Or maybe the countess is dying on a part of the ground that items can't spawn.
its happend to me once or twice, no runes at all from countess
its pretty rare but can happen

There sure is no rune in classic.

Ye its werid. Playing lod 1.11b i've done countess maybe 50 times now and never had a single rune from her. i play on my mac but also on my laptop which is Windows XP. So i can only think its to do with my log in name. :undecided:
o and i do the runs by myself.
Just a run of bad - very bad - luck.
On with one player you should get one/two and sometimes three runes per run.

make sure it says diablo expansion set 'lord of destruction' on the title screen
if you make it to the forge and dont get a rune you dont have d2x
Ya, that sounds really weird b/c i've found that running counting is a very easy way to make some money. Seems as though she has always dropped atleast 1 if not 2 or 3 for me, and my mf isn't that high. The only thing I can think of is if u are using classic but if ur on b.net than thats not poss so, i don't know what to think.

MF has no influence on rune drops. And on P1 the chance of the Countess not dropping any runes is about 2%.

norm is capped at ral
nm is capped at ko
hell is capped at Lo
1 rune drop can be higher but its extremely rare

lol cheers everybody but i'm not a plumb just so u know ;) Its 100% expansion. i'm a lvl 90 barb. So i've no idea did 20 more runs last night took print screens every time n no runes. Also i got my runes from the soul stone so its fine. I get rubbish a lot from random monsters. Mostly EL and TIR.
Could i ask somebody at bnet then?

They'll need Realm and Ladder/non-Ladder.
Also worth noting is that in 1.07/1.08 the countess has no special rune drop, it was added in 1.09.

ok so she shouldn't be doing drops?

You still need to tell us the realm you play in. You're Ladder Softcore, but where? Europe, USEast, USWest?

When no drop doesn't happen.
Read the whole section. Read his quote from Thrugg
It points out the Countess drop policy. See below
