View Full Version : Which soj count site is best for DC hunting?

I'm going to try and do this without posting any links as that's apparently a no-no on here. There are 2 sites I've found that have soj counts on them. One is from the mirc's site and the other is from one of the guides posted on this forum.

The problem is they usually don't agree on which servers are hot as well as which ones have walked or not.

I let my computer run in the background for nearly half a day yesterday on server 21 because it said it was going to pop soon. I got the message "11877 sojs have been sold to vendors" just as I thought would happen, but then no DC! And mirc's site has yet to confirm that 21 walked yesterday while the other site says it has.

So who do I listen to? I'm waiting on 66 right now as that one 'seems' to be in somewhat agreement with both sites, but is there one with a more accurate soj count?

I don't think there's need to be this extreme... links to sites with Diablo related information this site does not have are fine. If you got a link from a guide posted here, that should be all the assurance you need.

Now, remember that there are different servers for each realm, and therefore different SoJ counts. I don't know where you play, so this may not apply to you, but in Europe I'd recommend dclone.eskysse.com. That list seems most up-to-date, and when it's not, you can post your own observations in their forum.

The problem is they usually don't agree on which servers are hot as well as which ones have walked or not.

This is completely typical. These sites depend on users reporting SoJ counts for them, and if their user base is low, they don't get enough information. This is why I don't use any IRC channels - all the ones I've seen have SoJ count data that is months old.

My advice is that you pick a site that gets lots of updates, because that means their data is fairly recent. Other sites may not agree with them, and sometimes they have more recent data, or more outdated. Check the dates when SoJ counts were posted, and trust only recent ones.

That's good to know. The site that seems to be up to date and the one that is organized more is this one, the one I found from the guide on here http://dclonehunters.net/index.php?orderby=up. Mirc's site doesn't seem to be as up to date. When 21 walked a few days ago, this site had it posted within minutes. The other site still says it hasn't walked. I'm on US West so I think I'll just stick to this site. Thanks all!

I like this info, thanks! I only got got dclone once in my life, by pure luck. I was mf'ing with a friend and we saw 1 ... 2 ... 3 ... soj counters and stayed for the 4th. Diablo walked the earth and we killed him on stony field by the portal to tristram.
