Just reached 80 with my dreamer and was looking for more tips in the strategy section and found this little note:
Other charms that are good are ones with the Flaming prefix[...] in http://forums.diabloii.net/showthread.php?t=126665

It's from 1.10 and I'm not sure how he tested it or verfied the use for those (if they're working with Fire mastery or not since I can't see the use of them or why he mentions it otherwise).

If anyone got some insight about this or some ways to test it out please enlighten me.

Thanks in advance

(Wasn't sure if I should post it in the sorceress section but this felt like the right place)

Fire damage done in melee will be subject to fire mastery. Lightning damage done in melee will be subject to lightning mastery. The masteries will NOT apply to elemental damage done by ranged attacks. I'm not sure what else you'd need to know.

Yes, it's the whole thing the dreamer is built on but I wasn't sure if it was also applied to charms in particular. I've heard about quite some weird things that does and does not work in this game and I wanted to be sure.
LCS by it's name isn't to be trusted with these things :)

But I guess everything just adds up then.

Thanks for your answer

I doubt it's worth it.

Enchantresses deal massive amounts of elemental damage in melee because fire mastery multiplies elemental damage a second time in melee (not with missiles !). It's the same with the lightning damage from holy shock. Damage from elemental damage charms is applied on attacks with a weapon. However, they are subject to mastery only once (not with missiles as well IIRC), so you will need a big bonus to make it noticeable.

Example: A dual dream enchantress deals 60k damage per hit and lightning mastery provides a 500% bonus (needs a skill level of about 40). When assuming she wears 9 fire or lightning skillers, an Anni and a torch, she can wear another 10 SCs with 2-99 lightning damage (the highest amount possible... with fire charms it will be less). They will deal an average of 500 damage which will be an average bonus of 3k after lightning mastery, i.e. another 5%. I think a sorc will be better off with boosting res, fhr or life instead. Apart from that, a 2-99 lightning SC needs two perfect rolls on two particular affixes and one of them is possible on charms from Nihlathak and Baal only (not Diablo).

@Krischan: Indeed, that was kinda my thought aswell.

Guess I should just use the last spots for some more hp instead even thou I've never been that much of a fan stacking life charms since I'm strictly pvm.
