Phoenix merc?

It is common to have an insight merc for a caster to come up with high mana usage.
Now would it make sense to use an act3 merc with phoenix for redemtion aura? He wouldnt die on iron maiden and maybe an other usefull aura can be attained by the weapon slot.

I believe the redemption would only benefit the merc in that instance. You'd have to wear the Phoenix to take advantage of the redemption.

Although they're both aura's, I believe they work differently.

AS puts it "Redemption does not regain mana or hit points for other party members, Minions, Monsters that have been converted or Hirelings."

So it'd recover your merc's life, and dispose of corpses... at a cost of getting their str high enough to use a monarch.

Question is, why would you want to keep an iron wolf alive anyways? Its not that they serve any use.

all the chaos running hammerdins using lawbringer on an act 3 merc would disagree.

Meh, i just don't see the point in making something like that for doing chaosruns.
Much hassle for little to no use.

better than a dead insight merc. also the guys going to 99 get more xp by doing chaos in full baal games, but only from diablo. so they are trying to do diablo as fast as possible and having all the undeads knocked back... yeah dont knock it till you try it.

If you can afford phoenix you could always have it on the cta switch instead of that spirit, you'll lose 2 bo but I'd say the gain is enough to justify it for certain builds.

My lightsorc mfer used it like that: infinity on merc, full tal set with 117 fcr on main and cta phoenix on switch. Good fhr, fcr and mf, with mana instant replenish and some -% light res from facets/tal set bonus on top of the conviction aura.

Great Idea! Thank you somehow this possibility never came to my mind :D

And yes it sucks that merc will not give his aura to you.
