I played 6 months ago and there were about 45000-55000 in general. I wonder how many still play D2 now.

Probably a little less, but not noticably so. Quite a few also still play SP and so you can't find exact stats on them.

In this off hour, there's 43k people so l think your range is still accurate.

I think the battle chests being at most local Wal-Marts and other stores of those types are a big part of that. I just picked up the game a couple of months ago having never played before and I love it. Can't believe I was missing out for so long.

D2x is still a very good RPG even after 6-7 yrs
There's a lot of clones out there but they cannot dethrone D2x....

i mean here's coming old players back like have played wow like 2years and now coming back to d2 :D quitted wow for D2 rocks!

Just curious, never played WoW -- why is there consensus that it is the "dark side"? I tried WIII, unfortunately I am just not an RTS person, it seems, but Blizzard looks like it makes quality products. What's evil about WoW?
