i want to make a BoTD runeword on Eth Phase Blade, but PB cannot be Eth.
i find an Eth Dimensional Blade

Is possible upgrade an Eth Dimensional Blade in Phase Blade (Eth)? How i can do it?
Can i make BoTD on the Eth DB and then upgrade it? How I can do it?

No in both cases, upgrading only works on rare and unique items. On nonladder you cannot upgrade exceptional uniques.

Colossus Sword only gets 5 sockets maximum, no good for BotD.

The only decent sword BotD is in a Colossus Blade...

Other good, but for some reason less popular, choices include:
Archon staff (rare as hell)
Great Poleaxe
Thunder Maul (doesn't hit last WW breakpoint, but neither does Ogre Maul)
War Pike (big big merc stick)

Another rad point about eth zerkers is the low dex requirement. If you don't care about block or you're a dual wielding barb, you want axes.

About ethereal phaseblades... you can have one if you find a worthy rare crystal sword or dimensional blade on ladder. Just upgrade it using the appropriate runes and gems and voila! Ethereal Indestructable Phase Blade! :grin:

Forgot about that one. I don't have any HRs on the realms atm, and I sure as hell don't have a SP zod ;) so I don't really think about BOTD every day.

I do (obviously i don't think about BOTD everyday, i'm not insane you know, no really i'm not,... well just a little insane), not that i have a zod, no i have a selffound six sox ethereal ghost spear. (didn't even have to sox it, doesn't happen that often)

A ghost spear deals the same damage at the same speed and range than a GPA, but it has a very high dex req, so a merc will need a higher level to meet it (and for normal characters, high dex would be of little use when using a two-hander), so using BotD in a ghost spear makes no sense, except I'm overlooking something...

if i'd want a spear wielding barb i'd use ghost spear. but i don't because i think gpa is more stylish and it's better

I'd have to guess it would be because there is no Staff Mastery. 2h Charger? I dunno.

and sadly, ghost spears look ugly on any character. makes them look like a farmer =P

lol so true. In stash they look great, but when equipped its a other story..
