Does the 'add 400 damage' (assuming a perfect roll) component of the weapon get modified by the enhanced damage properties of skills like masteries, whirlwind, berzerk, or auras?

thanks!

Yes, although the Character screen is bugged and will not display this dmg. But once you attack somehting you will know the difference.

it adds to base damage of the weapon so yes, it will be multiplied by any % bonus from skills/auras

So, let me see if I got this straight. The increases in damage from skills like masteries, whirlwind, berzerk, and auras increase not only the base weapon damage, but they also increase the "adds 400 damage" component of grief?

thanks again for help

Yep, you don't see the actual added damage, you just have to picture another 400 damage getting boosted by ed% or might, and so on.
Thats why grief is so damn sexy.
(especially a grief pb imo)

Grief's +400 Damage is added to the weapon's base damage (well, I don't know if that's technically correct, but it makes the same difference). For example, a Phase Blade has a base damage of 31 - 35, but a Grief Phase Blade would have a base damage of 431 - 435.

If you used level 20 Whirlwind (+102% Damage) with a Grief Phase Blade, the +102% Damage would be based off the 431 - 435 damage of the PB.

This is why Grief is so powerful on one-handed weapons. If we look at BOTD on a PB (assuming no other variables), the +400% ED would be based off the 31 - 35 base damage of the PB, so you'd end up with 155 - 175 "base damage", which is much less than the 431 - 435 from Grief.

Thanks very much for that explanation. I understand now.
