Wondering about that because most builds I dont see anyone going over 50%? maybe there are diminishing returns?

Nopes, it is just capped at 50%. Anything above simply won't help, so no use going over 50%.

It can help, if you are amp'd/decrep'd. There aren't as many items that grant %dr as there are %res, so full stack of %dr vs amp is not possible (I think).

You can have a maximum of 127% Damage Reduction.

DR% is plain damage resist, which has savebits 8 in isc.txt, so that should be a limit of 255% before overflow.

Wait... Does this mean that the other resists work the same way (like in getting 256% cold resist will screw you over)?

Err, my bad. That's for saved stats per item, not in-game stats. The real cap is obviously hardcoded.
