Is there any way to find the way to Duriel faster than randomly teleporting around?

I think the last three duri's i made were all in the same tomb (square), but different level design. So i guess there isn't really a chance, that each tomb has the same map when it's the duri tomb.

Another possibility would be, that there are only like say 10 different maps total and each would have the same route, but i doubt that...

I thinks he means to say how you can tell wich one of the tombes it is each time, or if its random.
I actually have no idea how you could tell, but thats why tombing is so fun compared to for example Meph running.

If you don't want to visit the Summoner on each visit (the symbol of true tomb is the one which is missing among the glowing symbols there), you have to create the game with a dummy character who got credit for killing the Summoner, but hasn't got credit for killing Duriel, so you can check his quest window. IMO it's not worth to do Duriel runs because of the extra efforts you have to take. He also can drop from less TCs than Meph, although his mlvl is higher by one for some reason.

However, if you visit the Summoner anyway (e.g.on a key run), why not saying hello to Duriel from time to time ? He surely has the fewest visitors of all act bosses.

Regarding the location of the room with the orifice, you might have to follow the "turn left" rule IIRC (I'm not sure, however). That would mean, go to the exit of the room with the entrance, turn left by 90° and you are facing the direction at which you should have a look first.

Yeah summoner isn't the problem, just when I'm rushing people, I refuse to use mh, and it cuts my speed. I just like knowing the fastest routes possible to get to where I gotta be =D

Duriel isn't good for drops at all. He always seems to drop at least one scroll and one pile of gold.

IIRC, he's hardcoded to drop at least one portal scroll. This was to prevent people from trapping themselves if they forget to bring their own scrolls.

Yeah, that was a pretty useless thing to change. You can still trap yourself if you go back down that TP and forgot to buy more scrolls. Who runs duriel anyway? They could just as well have coded him to drop ONLY tp scrolls.

You cannot get trapped there because Tyrael will open a portal anyway. The reason probably is to trick people into leaving the area without talking to Tyrael.

Tyreal isn't there unless the quest is being done.

Which is when I'm usually run him =D...

or if feel like it for s**ts and giggles after killing the summoner

oh and don't forget, Duriel has the best chance to drop Rainbow facets =D

Sure, but if you are there for the quest, the scroll might make you leave without going to him. If you are there just for MF and he drops a TP scroll to provide a way out, why doesn't Baal drop one ? You cannot get out of there as well without a TP scroll when not being there for the quest.

tyreal has the nest chance for a lot of items, mara's, facets, metalgrid, and wisp in hell and raven frost if you kill him in nightmare. I always run him, and if you kill the summoner for keys there really is no excuse for not killing duriel

fixed that for you  I'm sure someone wants to kill tyrael but unfortunately, it's not possible.

Good point Krischan. I hope the people at blizz didn't see that comment, else they might screw over baal's drops as well ;)

You may be able to speed your rushing using Durimule characters. I started a little guide/FAQ in this thread. (http://forums.diabloii.net/showthread.php?t=410930)

Bascially, it means that your rushed characters don't have to visit the Maggot Queen, at the cost of needing to change characters a few times and have the rusher clear a safe path from the Arcane Sanctuary WP to the Summoner, IIRC.

If you are rushing then you'll be killing the summoner. You can just take a look at the six symbols next to him. The missing one is the one in which duriel is present. Or you can just ask the rushee what the correct symbol is :)
