Hello, everyone. I got bored and decided to write up an my idea of an "all out melee tourney" rules. any opinion/comment are well appreciated, and who knows you might even use some of the ideas in your next melee tourney.
anyway, here is what i think about an "all out melee tourney." but, first, let me describe on what i mean by melee. when i say melee, i do not mean the literal definition of it. pvp melee is bascially two player goes toe to toe attacking their opponent, so attack such as whirlwind is out. and any other attack skill that ignores' target defense is not allowed either, for example the infamous "smite" attack. so any attack that falls on those two categories would not be allowed.
but, other attack that uses elemental dmg are allowed as long there attack are toe to toe against there opponent, an example would be a melee sorc (who either uses passion/or bear with dream runeword) are allowed.
and, as for gears, all gears are allowed, as long there are not hacked item (an example would be the famous bug tals armor). and such prebuff like enchant from "a weapon that i forgot the name off" is also allowed. also stuff with ctc spells like life tap, and sorb items are all allowed. but this is also where the interested part of this all out tourney, and also in melee game wearing balanced out gears is important (for example a zealot wearing hoz, shaft, berber coa, dungo, maras, dual raven wont do to well against another zealot that has balance gear). the reason i say that is, since elemental type melee attack are allowed, a typical zealot set up for pure physical attack duel would have trouble against char such as fire claw bear. so one would have to know what kind of item that is ideal against his/her opponent. so, let say 20 ppl are in the tourney and consist of anything from zealot to fire claw bear, 8 random ppl will be randomly selected to join one game. in this game they will randomly go one on one versus each other. and since you wont know what type of melee char ur opponent is, you might not know what the best balance gears to wear. so, the fun part is one would have to be prepare and bring spare gears in stash to swap for their particular opponent. but, once you enter the 8 player game you cant not leave the game to transfer gears , so you can use against ur opponent. if u do leave u would be disqualified and lose by default. but u are allowed after each duel to go back to stash to swap gears and go again.
and of course using such item like a wand with amp charges to cast on ur opponent before you go in to attack is not allowed, but if it is a ctc on onee of ur item ur using than it would be allowed. so u get the idea of what is allowed and what not allowed.
and of course one would have to type go over their head, so your opponent knows ur ready, and also respect all player in the game. so it would be a nice and freindly enviorment to duel.
