Hey hows it goin,

Most of the time when i'm playing diablo 2 my monitor decides to just to switch off and i cant turn it back on, it doesn't actually turn off because the power light on it is still on but i cant bring the screen back and i have to turn my computer off and on to see my screen again.

Any suggestions?

Does it only do this when playing d2? And, does this happen when you are actively doing things in the d2 screen? If "yes" to both questions, you may have a glitch in your d2 disk, and Blizzard would likely replace the disk (bad news because you would be starting all over). You might want to exhaust all other possible solutions first. Try using a different mouse (mouse may be sending a corrupted signal)?

No it doesn't only happen when I play Diablo 2, it also does it when i use spybot and I asked around on their forums too and they suggested it would be solved by cleaning my fan because the processor was getting too hot and forcing it to switch off, as i found out there was a mass amount of dust over my fan so i cleaned it and that still didn't fix the problem, so I don't know, maybe i should just get a new computer....if I can afford one :grin:

check to see that ure video card isnt full of dust too. Sometimes the VPU will overheat and cause the video to shut down. also try reducing ure video down to something like 800 x 600,16 bits color, that will at least help ure video card run a little better. And on diabloii remove the 3d enchancements if u have them on. And make sure ure connection to the monitor is secure on the back of PC.

check the power settings in the control panel
start -> run
type "powercfg.cpl" [enter]

change the turn off monitor setting higher or to never
