The time has come for my to create my favourite character in diablo 2.He'll use only ranged weapons and throwing stuff.

So , please support me in terms of suggestions! And help me choose between a shock ranger and a machine gunner (aka fanatic ranger with a buriza, too bad strafe isn't available for paladins).
Strength - about 80
Dex - everything goes here
Vita - about 180
Energy - lol

Skills:
20 fanaticism , 20 holy shock and maxed synergies for it.5 into vigor for non-harmony users.Resist lightning is a choice against FoHers in duels , too.

Equipment : applies for both
Demonlimb;CTA ; Treachery for prebuff

Equipment(Shock Ranger):
Generally , we'll aim for low physical/high elemental damage. The skills are completely holyshock-oriented.A Faith on switch is recommended ,but expensive.

The Stuff:
Helmet : Andy's Visage with a lightning facet
Armour : Treachery runeword (I'd go with enigma if I was rich , but I hate that runeword anyways) , 20/20 facet armour if you are rich and wanna hit harder with less IAS.
Bow : Widowmaker with a lightning facet
Belt : Verdungo's or Nosferatu's
Gloves : LoH, Cleglaw's at duels.
Boots : Goblins or Aldur's
Rings : Angelic or Rare Dualleech rings
Amulet : Angelic or Cat's eye

Switch: Spirit or any decent shield + Gimmershreds.

Equipment (Machine Gunner):
Generally , we'll aim for high physical damage and some decent PVP capabilities. We'll take full advantage by using lifetap ,valkyrie and our frost merc in crowds. In duels, naturally ,we'll switch to a widowmaker , though a 40/15'd one will fit this variation more.

Helmet : Andy's visage [UM'd or 15 res /15 ias'd ] or any COA
Armour : Treachery of course.Iceblink does wonders too.Peace is also nice for crit strikes.
Weapon : Your AK-47 AKA Blunderbuss AKA upped shaeled or 40ED'd buriza-do-kyanon , windforce ,eaglehorn
Weapon on switch : either lifetap wand or Harmony ,if you need a tank and a speedjet.
Gloves : LoH or Lavagouts.Draculs are a choice if you haven't got the space for a lifetap wand.Cleglaw's at duels.
Belt : If you won't blast em to bits with your blunderbuss , use razortail,Otherwise it's nosferatu's.Verdungo and SoE are always options.
Boots : Goblins are a must. They can be replaced by either marrows , eth treks or gore riders.
Amulet/Rings : Highlords + two BKs / dual leech rings with AR/res.

The Mercs:
Harmony/andy's/treachery -wielding act 1 rogue.
Act three merc cold merc with eth viper, eth spirit , any lore or shako , any spirit sword or lawbringer in chaosruns.
If you wanna get cheesy , any act three with conviction will work for the shock ranger too.But this is a build with style , dammit.

Inventory for both variations : Offensive skillers.Lots of them.Expecially for the shock ranger. Some FRW/FHR/vita charms would help too.Poison and max dmg scs are crazy for both variations ,but rough to obtain.

I could use some assistance with the breakpoints on paladin bow/cbow usage , as well some additional info.
EDIT : I had the mercs mixed up.

Just noticed that Buriza hits the last IAS BP with level 20 fanaticism. So no more IAS is required. The gear for the machine gunner is about to change:

Helm : Shako or Guillame's
Armour : "Peace" ,"Bone" , Enigma or CoH
Weapon: Ideally Ohm'd Up'd Perf Buriza
Switch : Widowmaker +holy shock for phys immunes or just a lifetap wand
Gloves : Draculs , Souldrainers or plain cleglaw's.
Belt: Nosferatu's
Boots : Goblin Toes or Gores
Rings + Amulet : I guess dualleech rings + highlords are still the way to go.

This makes critical strike hit almost approximately 60% of the time ,as well as crushing blow ,which adds up to about 60% as well.

A couple sidenotes:
I think BK3s are a better choice for the shock ranger. They give some needed +skills, as well as some lifeleech and life.
