Excellent video Jary. I couldn't help but laugh at the Dream using bowazon(s) (do people not like seven frames for ga?) and the hdins that didn't cast holy shield, probably didn't have 75% blocking and kept getting flattened by the grizzly. :azn:

You should definitely post this in the PvP forum if you haven't already, it's sure worthy of being put in the video library, not to mention it's a nice little foil to the claim that all summoning druids can do is townguard. If you do just a word of caution, prepare to be flamed by akuma as Widowmaker vs hammerdins is apparently junk, well you've probably seen the 'debate,' it's in your windy or bone necro? thread. :wink3:

Now this is very interesting. I made a character like this back at the VERY VERY start of 1.10, when enigma was first introduced. An extremely high level bear + teleport to telefrag people (i got the name telefrag for it, too). I occasionally used chain-werebear-shockwave, but I found it was more effective to just teleport across people with high FCR.

However, I found that while the build was very competent, it was a one-trick pony, and had no versatility. I couldn't get close to wind druids, couldnt kill almost any ES sorcs, ect. Sure it was great for hunting bowazons, but I already had 10 chars that could do that. Heck I even had a polebarb with a full inventory of 5% FRW charms. So I started thinking. How could I modify this druid to make him more pvp applicable?

Then it hit me. The synergies for grizzly, and even HOW, are completely worthless in PvP. You don't need more AR, he already has enough. You don't need more HP, he already has enough. He's not going to hit people with ultra high defense unless they are walking, anyway, and his base HP is enough to get by with just recasting. So what did this mean?
It meant that the tele-summoner druid only requires 20 SKILL POINTS.

So what do we do with the other 80?

We already have a whompass 7k+ telestomp, so wind skills would be pointless. Shapeshifting wouldn't work out with the teleport theme. But oh, what about say, fissure/volcano/synergies?

Hence, I came up with the shaman after a while on the cutting block. I had that exact same kind of druid you have there, and the shaman was just a further evolution of the idea.'
I found that the hybrid fire skills made up for the weaknesses you have when you are fighting those hard-to-approach builds. You've doubtlessly noticed, if youve been using your druid that much, that you can't easily teleport to charging hammerdins or chargers, or pin down 200% FCR sorcs. Even with shockwave or garrows, as they do no damage on their own. However, when you can toss a fissure or volcano under them, it becomes something wholy different.

But don't get me wrong. The pure-summoner is fun to mess around with. Its just not nearly as efficient as it could be.

lvl 52 griz, 49 oak/HoW if prebuffed with deli. However, half the time I dont bother, so generally 49 ^.^
Beast is good, I prefer Doom over... 'cause it slows opponents movements which I feel > my bears movements, but both are very good choices :)

I totally agree. He was trying to go ultra def mode to be safe I got tired and tried to flush him out :)

Yeah I remember back in 1.09 we could get max volcano AND max armageddon with this. Plus only one character class used tele ;) A ton of fun back then.

just an FYI; a 52 bear with 49 HOW will do 12348 damage per hit, roughly. I found that 8k is around enough for PvP, and I developed the rest of my +skills items into fire branch.

In the end you can get around 8000 bear, 2500 fissure, 2400 volcano, and 5k geddon (with just 1 pt in it). It makes for an extremely versital char, since u can both do the telebombs AND pelt them from long range. And volcano + telebear is probably the best combo shot in the game.

That's where he hits a sorc with energy shield, compared to hitting the other characters and swatting them like flies, I guess?

Super great video btw. Loved the whole shock & stun while the bear just beats at them. It's humiliating to have nothing to do but just get mawed... haha.

You deffinitely know what you're talking about, 'cause those stats are exactly right. That's good fire damage #'s too... I'll have to try that :)
Bear/HoW: ~12-13k damage, 9-10k life
Bear/oak: ~7.7-8k damage, 20k+ life

I agree, I prefer oak since it also benefits my survivability as well as my bear's. However, against higher def builds like Hammers where I'm going for the one-hit kill and constantly recasting/reshaping I've had much more success with HoW.. there were a few instances in the vid that illustrated it ^_^

I must say, that is likely one of the most interesting characters I've ever seen. All aspects seem to come well together, though I expect people with uninterruptable attacks aren't very fun to duel against.

Watching the vid, your basic problem is that you've got no speed.

Speed deffinitely becomes a problem when I have to drop down a bp.

I hate to admit it, but the duel with the fb sorc near the end, and a few other caster duels near the start, I forgot to switch to spirit monarch, I was still using ss >.> ...funny you mentioned 'cause I was thinking about that afterwards when watching lol. It woulda been nice if I could go back to use that 99% bp, I think you woulda seen a lot more speed :)
