Hi there guys.
I'm not very good with figures and could use a little help calculating which Strafe breakpoint to aim for before tooling up my new Witchyzon :undecided:
I'm currently using an Upgraded WWS (empty sox so far), Laying of Hands
(20% IAS) and my Merc is using a Faith bow with Lvl 13 Fanaticism. No other gear has been sourced yet, so tips would be grand.
Would like to go for the fastest bp if it's attainable without sacrificing killing power. I have a reasonable budget (can afford the odd 15% IAS/%ED jewel and other spangly things)...

Well, with a level 13 Fanaticism, you only need 65% IAS to attain the last breakpoint.
With 20 from LoH already, you only require 45% more.
You can get a Cat's Eye for rather cheap (20), and from there you can get a Stealskull with an IAS jewel, giving you 25 more...boom. Breakpoint reached, and two free sockets for the Witchwild String.
If you want to get classier, you can go with an Andariel's Visage on your head with an IAS jewel, getting you 10 over the required IAS breakpoint.
This way, you're free to choose an armor with no restrictions to IAS (something like Fortitude in any elite light armor)...if you can afford Faith, you should be able to get a Lo to make Fortitude).

Thanks for that. Yeah, I have the Ists to obtain a Lo at the moment - will be making it in a self found 10% ED Dusk Shroud. I realise that IAS Jewels will work in my helm - will the %ED bonus from such jewels work if they're placed in a helm?
A reliable Forumite told me that IAS/ED jewels will work in a helm, but IAS/Max jewels are bugged, so should only go in weapons. I'm sure he's right, but confirmation is always nice
As far I remember from reading these forums, it's ED/MIN or ED/MAX jewels that are bugged in armors/helms (e.g., 30% enchanced damage/+5 max damage jewel)...
BTW, any reason you don't want to wield the Faith yourself?

It leaves me free to play with whatever 'exotics' I fancy
8/2 strafe is 35 ias with a lvl 13 fana and a 0 wsm bow. 9/2 requires 25%.
For fastest normal attack you'd need 70 ias.

Ah, correction on my part: you'd need 70 IAS to achieve the fastest firing breakpoint on a Witchwild string.
I took the number from a level 14-15 Fanaticism by mistake...oops. >.<
My bad.
In which case, you'll want 30 or more IAS on the helm, rendering Stealskull incapable of having you hit 70 without Shael'ing the WWS. There are lots of combinations here, though, with the two open sockets for IAS jewels and whatnot...so play around. The end goal is 70, though, in any case, for a 7 frame normal attack.

So I guess I only need 35 IAS minimum, as I doubt I'll use normal attack much if at all (plenty of mana leech through rare items).
Thanks for your post Kijya - your figures match the ones I came up with originally - maybe I can read the tables?

ED/IAS will work everywhere. ED/Max will work in weapons. So if you use a Giant Skull and WWS, you should put the ed/max in the bow and the ed/ias in the helm.

For a 'Pimp My WWS'-build  Style-points ftw!
