I'm thinking about making a PvM/Uber fanatic zealot that emphasizes on str w/ 1400+ life from CtA (from lack of life/vit). Has anyone built one, and was it worth the extra 1K to 2K extra physical damage? Also, what is this build called? I'm sure there's a name for it.

My gear is pretty much the same as Clervis' 'Death Dealer the Overzealous Day-Dreamer', except for the merc and weapon switch. Instead of Might/Infinity combo, I'm thinking about Blessed-Aim/Pride combo. I'm basically going for maximum physical damage (hopefully 11K+) with 100% cb, 100% ds, 1400+ life, max block, max res, and 36K+def. I haven't done any serious math for the damage calculation, but it should be a ballpark figure.

I don't think I'll need much life since my def and life tap will pretty much take care of it. Any help, suggestions or comments would be appreciated.

builds that focus on strength's called a titan=)
popular with druids and barbs, but i guess a paladin can work too..

i recommend a hammer type weapon since it gives 1.1% off-weapon damage bonus per 1 strength point.. hmm, a schaefer's hammer looks very tasty for such build=)

what gear are you considering?

-Eth Death ZA
-Gulliames 15ias jeweled
-1800+def Sacred Fort
-1600 def Eth Vortex Exile
-Nosferatu Coil
-Laying of Hands
-Goreriders
-Highlords Wrath
-Crafted Blood Ring (stats, res)
-Ravenfrost

Weapon Switch:
-Call to Arms
-Spirit Shield

Blessed Aim A2 Merc:
-Eth Vampgaze
-Eth Up'd Shaftstop
-Pride Eth Elite Polearm

The Bolded are items that I am currently working on. For Charms, I'm undecided which to get. I'm torn between Pcombs or max/ar/life charms. I may go Eth Fort for merc and ber the Eth Gaze for added damage, def, res, etc.

Thank you Zarirazz for the term. From what I understand Titans benefit from 2h weapons, but I like having a shield.

that is some nice gear! i really dont have any other suggestions lol.

well, maybe one. you might want to try a 2 hander, you could probably double your damage output.

Heya,

Make death in a twohander. When you go Titan, the point is to build up huge amounts of damage. The STR you have will work off the high base damage of your weapon. If you use a little zerker axe, the damage is not going to impress you. You'll see a small number for your zeal/charge. Use a ~1k damage two hander and watch those numbers go beyond 15k+ and you'll feel all warm and fuzzy. Fort & STR and all that stuff, and your skills, can only make your weapon better if it's got insane damage already. If it's only like ~400 damage or something, the extra 700% damage is only 2800 damage added. That isn't much. But if it was a 1k damage weapon, now you're adding 7k+ damage. Huge difference from the same gear, just a different weapon.

Eth Decaps are insane and naturally get 5 sockets.

Cheers,
