I’ve been working on a Meteorb sorc and have recently noticed something in lag spikes when everyone starts running on the spot. You can cast meteor without a timed delay as much as you want, and not loose mana. Now I know you can cast like this with other characters during lag spikes, but the thing I’ve noticed about meteor is that if you cast it over the entire screen in a lag spike, it will remain after the spike, leaving everything in flames.

Anyone else noticed anything like this?

Your computer may think you're casting meteor, but the server thinks otherwise. :wink3:

Arkardo has it right. This is just a relic of the way Diablo renders things in its client-server paradigm. The client thinks it can cast multiple meteors, so it casts them and displays them. The server ignores the meteors that weren't allowed to be cast, but doesn't tell the client to get rid of them, because the server doesn't know the client actually displayed them. TPing out and back should resynch what meteors are really there.

Thanks guys this must be what it is, because my wireless internet connection is very low and often disconnects :cry:

One thing I've noticed is that other people can see it too? "Wow whos going crazy with the meteors" etc. Does this mean that everyone can see it, but it's not doing any real damage?

...Or that some people think casting 2 meteors is crazy :grin:
