View Full Version : Is Templar's Might SA good for paladin?
Hi,
I just found Templar's Might Sacred Armor when doing Mephisto run. The first thing that comes to my mind is, that it has a ridicious defense. The second thing is, that it has also pretty ridicilous strength requirement of 232, and my strenght is ~180. It would give 2 to my Offensive Auras, but I already have my Conviction at level 25. It also has 20% Faster Hit Recovery. My conclusion is, that it really isn't as good as it's supposed to be, but since I'm not too experiened player, I'd like to hear your opinion before selling it (to a merchant, I don't do MP).

I'd save it. Not worth selling, worth keeping, Not wearing :/

The thing is, I don't do trades, and if it isn't worth wearing (just like I thought) it just takes space in my stash and that's it. Of course I took a screenshot already. :-) Is there any build for which Templar's Might would be a great choice for armor, or is it just a shiny piece of gear without any actual use (as it seems to me)?

good defense, but extremely high strength requirement. so probably any titan build would be best suited to it=)

Or a Hel rune if you must use it.
232 ---> 197 strength required.

Heya,
Personally I think Templar's Might is a joke. +2 Aura? +2 all skills blows that out of the water. 2k Defense? Well, a humble Fort can get that and be so much better that it's silly. +Max stamina? Hold the phone. Oh yea, it's because of all the VIT you won't have for hitting 232 STR.
Templar's Might serves one purpose: to remind you that this could have been Tyreal's, and didn't end up IK Plate.
It's just bad armor. No resistances. No damage reduction And the rest of the mods are just plain not that great. Look at Tyreal's Might. Look at even Shadow Carapace Armor... both are way better (eth? zomg DEF).
If you want better armor with good DEF, just take a Guardian Angel and up it to HellForge (196 str) and then drop a -15% req Jewel or Hel rune in it = 167 STR to use.
Or just use Up'd Shaftstop. Or just a plain of Gladiator's Bane.
All of which are so vastly superior to Templar's Might. I'd rather wear twice up'd Twitch armor over Templar's....
(Oh and normally I would try to find a way to make even a bad item good, just like a bad character made into a successful one, but unfortunately this armor seriously is just that bad for what it is... the tiny bit of extra DEF it has compared to other elite armors just does not justify at all the rest of its mods. It's a real novelty item that sits in a stash. If only we could "downgrade" uniques... then it might be cool!)
Cheers,

Do keep in mind that any item with +2 to skills requires high runes, which are supposed to be freakin' rare. A Lo for a Fortitude can be obtained legaly, with a lot of work (cubing up runes), but the others require either insane luck or an insane amount of work.
That being said, yes, lots of armors like the ones you mentioned are superior. If I'd find one, I may make a fun build around it, but nothing else. At least, I'd keep it for the collection.
