View Full Version : Ethereal HOZ
I have been looking for a new shield since NM Act 5, when I put Ral-Ort-Tal in a shield I found on the ground. My zealer/1 pt smiter is lvl 86 now with that same shield. I have never seen a HOZ drop before, but last night, one did! But....ETHEREAL. I am seriously bummed out. So here is my question. Is there anything I can do with an Eth HOZ? I've obviously never seen a Zod rune, but I suppose I could possibly trade for one. Or is that a waste? Does an Eth HOZ have any value on the trade forum, and should I trade it away to try to get a normal HOZ?
I have no idea what to do with this shield. It has really nice defense, actually (like 700+, I think). It would be awesome if it were upped/zodded, I suppose, but I really wanted to put a pdiamond or Um into it.
Help me please!

Eth hoz is worth much more than a normal hoz.
Why is that Arutha?
Edit: Thanks for the reply, by the way!

Well same reason people like eth andys, eth valors, eth shaft's, ect. They are much more rare to find, and have much more defense. If you can get your hands on a zod I would stick it in there, and upgrade it. But if you do need the + res more from an um'd hoz you shouldn't have trouble finding a buyer.
Dueling Smiters really love Eth Up'd HoZs too. Does the eth dmg increase affect shields as well? I think that's why.
BTW I traded a perfect 200%ED hoz on ESCL for about 12 HRs.
Ok, one more question then. Should I eth glitch it first, then up it? Or up it first, then eth glitch it? I want to get the most shield out of this. I'm hoping I can trade for a zod and keep the thing.
Eth bugging doesn't work with unique items. You can use it only on normal items.
Ok, thanks for clearing that up for me.

You don't need a Zod if you use it on a Smiter. Smite attacks wear your weapon, not your shield, and you will have holy shield on all the time.

Unfortunetly eth hoz's do not do more damage than non-eth: Linky (http://img100.imageshack.us/img100/5360/hozoc7.jpg)

Holy shield doesn't prevent your shield from losing durability so it would still break eventually without a zod in it.
