some enemy curses and auras, please help identify

Hey so I was wondering if you guys could tell me what these are:

Some bosses have a green offensive aura....what does it do?

In act5 in the frozen river area, I'm going up against blood temptresses. They cast a curse that lowers defense.

However, now i'm running through the same area with a necromancer. They cast a curse that lowers the defense of all my mnions (a weird pointy colored red curse), but the curse that gets cast on ME is different! It's this strange swirly red thing that goes in loopy circles over my head. I notice that somehow it causes me to lose life even though I'm not being struck. Oddly this has only happened to me as a Necromancer. When I play the other classes I get hit with the lower defense curse just like all my minions.

Green would be conviction, lowers your lightning, fire, and cold resists.
That curse on you is called blood mana, mana you use for spells will be turned to damage against you. They only cast it vs you if you have more mana than hp.

Conviction also lowers Defense.


Regarding Blood Mana: it will not kill you directly - only take you down to 40 life (I think) which is still bloody dangerous, though!

In addition to witches, Baal can also use Blood Mana if the character has more mana than life.
