Which should I make? I know there are some runewords that grant some powerful auras (see hand of justice bow) for fire, and some nice bows for ice (see ice bow). I'm thinkin' about gettin' an infinity merc, this will mostly be PvM, but I'd also like some nice damage so i can mess around in PvP on occasion. I want to use the one most widely destructive.

Holy Fire in of itself does pitiful damage (85~95 to attacks, 14~16 from aura) and even when combined with the fire damage from Exploding Arrow or Immolation Arrow, the difference is nearly insignificant. I highly suggest to not use the Fire branch of the Bow tree and if you're going to concentrate on an element, make it Ice. The Ice Runeword itself is actually useful (155~160 to your attacks, 31~32 from aura, slows targets by 53%). Also, the additional 25-30% To Cold Skill Damage, and -20% To Enemy Cold Resistance is much more beneficial to Freezing Arrows significantly higher damage (and Holy Freeze's cold damage) compared to Exploding or Immolation Arrows damage and the mere -20% To Enemy Fire Resistance bonus from Hand of Justice.
Of course, in most cases, the extra physical damage and sheer speed of Faith would outweigh the benefits of Holy Freeze and the Cold damage enhancers.
In terms of PvP, you won't be hitting many people with your attacks outside of Guided Arrow and Multishot.
