Just figured id pop in and say hi to everyone.
i havent played scince about 1.08
Quit playing a bit befor WoW came out. and im looking to start playing again.
i have a 47 orb/meteor sorc and a 64 bowazon (who sucks cuz she has garbage gear)

Basically im looking to get rolling again and im not sure on the changes in 1.11 that effect game play.
Im assuming i need to get my sorc up and running inorder to MF myself some gear for my chars, scince sorc's seem to still be one of the less gear dependent classes.

Im also lookin at making a necro and isee people in the forums talk about a fishy necro, but i dont see a link to the build guide?

Either way, any insite would be appreciated. And thanks in advance.

Those necros are strong and easy to play. And fun aswell, at least i think so :-) But before you can get some kind of teleport, getting to bosses could take a long time. He will probably be best at running areas.

I started up relatively recently as well, So...

Are there any mods to d2 that are concidered "ok" like wow mods?
id like something that changes the color of runes so you can see them easier when they drop. but im not one to use Map hack or anything like that. i dont like those type of programs.

.08 was a lifetime ago, and the builds you'd be familiar with have gone the way of the dinosaur.
In general, without getting the best items possible (and even then these builds are questionable)

WW barbs suck
Orb sorcs suck- still good for mf till hell, great for rushin norm and nm noobs
Bow zons suck
Non trap sins suck (duh)
Vengeance pallys suck (again, not a surprise)



pretty much the popular builds that ruled half a decade ago have been nerfed

Zealer and hammerdins rock, fire and light sorcs do extrememly well, as do, surprisingly, a melee sorc build.
Javazons, concentration barbs, PnB and summon necros more than hold their own.

A little research on builds will save you alot of hair pulling in the future, there's massive amounts of info floatin around this site, dive in :thumbsup:

That depends on if you intend to play on Battle.net or not. If you'll be on Bnet then no there aren't any mods you can use. However if you'll be playing Single Player then yes there are (such as the RRM which turns runes red). Take a peek at the SP stickies for info on such mods.

ww barb, orb sorc and bowazon doesn't suck if you get decent gears. pvm is too easy with good gears.
