View Full Version : Bow or Crossbow?

I want to stick with my bows because I actually do archery in real life and I hate it when people shoot with crossbows/composite bows. Playing with a crossbow would be a taboo for me but in the game, each crossbow compared to their bow equivalent does more damage and uses less attributes.

What is your take on this, and what can be said in defense of the bow?

well just like in real life bows are much faster than crossbows

you dont see the elves in lord of rings use crossbows do you? ^^ nah im not really a huge fan of that movie/book

im sure faith gmb/mb or windforce are better than any crossbows you can find both in speed and damage

as said before, damage per arrow may be higher on crossbows, but dps (damage per second) is what you should be looking after and the better bows totally outclass any crossbow in the game.
(also bows have more style)

The olny thing that had me using a crossbow was that is was that Exceptional Unique Ballista with an asian-sounding name. (No offence!)
I got Mavina set, not only did the stats skyrocket, I got a bow (^_^), and now the arrows run out less and the speed is AWSOME! Thtas how I won in a duel, BTW.

I like crossbows for certain builds.

Example: the Ranger Paladin. Give him a Buriza and max his holy shock aura and it's synergy Resist Lightning and you have a hell of a character. He'll put a ton of damage behind each bolt, so it kinda offsets the fact that the shots are a bit slower than a bow.

For Amazons, though, I like bows. They can have insane damage and speed.

And i'm not talking about the racing games.

use crossbows on non zons only like J said. the only cross bow i've ever used on a zon was a buriza and only because it's all i had.

ps. buriza is a kick butt wolf druid weapon.
