View Full Version : How do skills scale with more players?
I read the fishymancer guide, and it says that corpse explosion does not get much stronger as more players enter a game and monster life (and other stats) go up. How does CE and other skills scale with more players?
Also, I've been trying to type "/players 8" and "/players8" a bunch of times but it hasn't increased the difficulty. The screen just says that it's an invalid bnet command. Does being in ladder, not beating the game, or limiting the number of players when creating the game have anything to do with that?

The /players8 command is for SP use only.
I don't know about that CE scaling with increased players though...
CE does 80-100% of corpse life at /players1. On a related note, crushing blow is also 1/4 of current life at /players1. Static field removes 1/4 of current life regardless of players. Not sure if it is affected by lightning res.

Static field is affected by lightning res, just like CB is affected by physical res.
"CE does not scale with players" is kind of a misnommer. Only static scales with more players, with every other attack you just need to keep hitting them. However, with CE you have a limited ammo, so you have less of a chance to keep hitting things is all.

I agree, "scalaing with players" is a misnomer. When the player count is higher, either in SP from /players x or MP/B.net from more characters in the game, the monsters health goes up (and their damage as well, though not by as much if I remember correctly.) Almost all player damage stays the same, so generally it takes longer to kill a particular monster. The exception is static field, since the percentage removed (of the monster's actual health) stays the same. Crushing blow (which also removes a percentage of the monster's health), has its damage based on a percentage of the health the monster would have in players 1, not what the monster actually has. Hope that helps!
