ARGH: I dont understand Faith Break Points

I've seen the guides and numbers there, but I don't understand them. I'm trying to trade for a Faith in a Mat bow and it is 3/2/13. How much ias do I need from gear to hit last strafe breakpoint? If I remember correctly, is there a difference between Level 13-15 Fana on Mat bow?

This speed calculator will tell you exactly what you need to hit the breakpoints. If you're using a 2/3/13 MB Faith, you're gonna need 9% IAS to hit the breakpoint. Yeah, pretty small cause its an MB. If you were using a GMB, that would be much higher.

But I would have to say that there will be a noticable difference starting from level 13 Fana.

Actually that calculator will be incorrect in this case. It shows 9/2 strafe as the fastest instead of 8/2, of course the difference is minimal but still ...

To read it the amazon tables sticky you first find the correct table for the attack (table 10 for strafe with a bow), then the small for your level of fanaticism (level 13), then the column for your weapons WSM. The WSM is a weapons "base speed" if you look into the list of bows you can see a column listing it, for a matriarchal bow it's -10. so then you look at the -10 column in the fana 13 table in table 10.

aka you'll need 20 ias for fastest strafe (commonly known as 8/2), 10 ias for 9/2.

Would you guys settle for lvl 13 fana or try to get a 15?

13 is fine, you only need 1 more ias gear so it should be no problem.

13 is fine considering that you'll get the last frame for guided on a GMB using the same gear that a 14-15 would have. And... I didn't read the first post correctly. :\

On a side note: I was trying to find my own bow doing cows, I did bout 11 runs. I found 3 +2 0os, 1 +3os. I got a 4os from the +2 but 2os from the +3 ARGH. It pains me..

But yeah, once you get the level 13 Fana, then the rest of the gear needed would be the same if you had a level 15. And comparing 13 to 15, the difference in stats is minimal, me thinks.

Everyone always focuses on the speed differences between fan 13 and 15... which is fine since it IS the most important difference.

But don't forget there is a damage difference too. A level 15 fan aura will give you 288% dmg while a level 13 will give you 254%. A 34% difference. Not huge but it's nothing to sneeze at.

There's also a 26% dmg difference for party members (e.g., valkryie and merc).

Finally... I noticed you have a mat bow for faith. In that case, for the fastest strafe you need only 20% IAS, regardless of fan level (12 to 15, it's all the same).

To get a 7-frame multishot (yeah, I know you only asked about strafe), that's another matter. You'll need 50% IAS. A level 14 or 15 fan will require 5% less IAS (45% IAS to get 7).

It's not huge but it makes a difference - I know because I rolled a 13/1/3 Faith mat. I didn't want to replace my Atma's scarab and don't want to wear Andy's so I'm stuck a 8 frames:

LoH gloves - 20%
Stealskull - 10%

So even if I socketed my Stealskull with a 15% IAS jewel, I'll only get to 45% IAS, not enough for a 7-frame ms. BUT if I had a level 14 or 15 fan, I would hit the fastest ms. So, that extra 5% has got me stuck. :shocked:

I'm now saving up to get another faith roll... hopefully 14+ :prop:
