View Full Version : reaper's toll for zerk weapon ?
I know it doesn't have ias... but if you shael'ed it, combined with highlords & Laying of hands, you'll have enough for 12 fpa... is that too slow ? I'm thinking that the decrep curse will add 50% more damage done to the target. Lets not forget that it has 33% deadly strike as well... that + highlords and Gore riders would give you ~80% deadly strike... what do you think ? with a BOTD colosus blade, you'd get more damage when wielding 2 handed, the same attack speed, no deadly strike and no decrepify... and... a Reaper's Toll is a heck of a lot easier to get your hands on...

Cool idea...
BUT Decrepify lowers physical resists
AND Berserk deals magic damage
Maybe some other build could get this to work better?

Heya,
Decrep is great for slowing your enemies and it triggers very often, but ultimately the 50% physical damage doesn't help since you're doing magical damage. So decrep just becomes a `slow' curse. You could just use "slows target" items to get the exact same effect basically. The Deadly Strike is nice. But you can replicate that too.
Suggestion: Death - Make that in a big ethereal sword. Go to work on zerking things with it. Insane damage. Crushing blow. And high deadly strike. Along with low req's (eth and 20% lower reqs makes easy to use any top elite), you'll have an 800+ damage sword. Easy and cheap to make too.
Cheers,
uh... no... as I understand it, physical damage is CONVERTED to magic damage AFTER all damage enhancing mods like auras, deadly strikes, + damage and curses. So decrepify should absolutely rock shouldn't it ? It's half as strong as amp damage, reduce target's physical damage by half and it slows your target down ! I'm pretty sure this is how it works. Can we have some clarification from other barb gurus ?

a) Slow
b) Mediocre damage
c) No shield
IMO it doesn't really matter if decrep works for phys damage, I see no reason to zerk with it.
no jox. curses come after the conversion. the deadly strike is good though.
does your enemies receive physical damage ? no, they will receive magic damage, so decrep wont help
but, decrep also reduces the damage they do by 50%, so thats GG, plus slow 50%
