So not to long ago I found a fairly nice rare 2h maul (there is an SS of it farther down) and I proceeded to make a lvl 12 charger with it. So far so good, now the thing is he's on classic. And I have been considering converting him to LOD since he might do better there in the LLD scene because of jewels and charms.

Click HERE (http://img120.imageshack.us/my.php?image=lldchargerua4.png) for the Screen Shot. (I pasted all the important info into one block)

So my question is: Should i convert him to LOD since he would gain from that?
Also I could use some help with suggestion for gear improvements and the such.

His current Gear set up is:

Helm: Random rare (needs changing)

Armor:Angelic's

Amulet: Angelic's

Rings: Angelic's

Boots: Sigon's

Belt: Sigon's

Gloves: Sigon's

Weapon:My rare maul

That's it, my main concern so far that kept me from converting him to LOD was that the maul (which sorta makes this build) would be rendered obsolete by alternatives that are offered in the expansion.
Also on a side note I intend to keep him at lvl 12 and I also haven't done all the skill, attribute and health quest's yet.
Alright any help is appreciated by me the lld n00b:prop:

Nah. Just make a LoD MF-er, and rebuild your paladin there. Don't convert him. In LoD, a decent level 12 charger setup might be

3 sock light plate or 4 sock goth plate (preference, really), with +9/+14 (for the rich) maxers.
3 sock mask/crown with maxers
4 sock paladin shield with maxers

edit: st00pid bear forgot the weapon: Either Clegs sword (50% DS), a 6 socket eth war axe + maxers or a very, very nice rare ethereal warhammer with 1-2 socket. I had one for Clvl 16 that did 50-100 dam ^_^.

Deaths belt (CBF, not a real requirement but nice) or Hsarus Belt if Deaths Belt is not needed.
Bloodfists
Some 20% run-walk boots (pretty irrelevant, but if you did go for Hsarus Belt, try his Boots to go along ;) ) Gorefoot are nice, but the Mana Leech doesnt help anymore.
Angelic jewelry

And then you're into charms, which is another wallop of stuff. You might as well simply rebuild the guy in LoD, as you'll need mucho extra gear. Keep him in Classic with his friend the Maul.

Alright thanks Barrynor, that was sort of what I was thinking that he would be rendered obsolete by all the maxers.
And without my friend the maul that guy is useless, now I haven't dueled very much in the lld scene on classic with him yet. But so far I have yet to a see another lvl 12 that can beat him (probably a well built clegger with max block would though ;D)
Since he is now staying on classic are there any gear improvements I should consider?....apart from finding an even better 1h Bh with the same dmg and same lvl req  lol I wish.

Also I just tried the SS link, and it doesn't seem to be working anymore
So here are the stats for the hammer for you people who might still read the post.

Rare Maul.
2h 65-110 dmg
lvl req 11
+73% ED
+10 to max dmg
+106 to AR
-20% req
50% extra dmg to undead

With that thing and lvl 2 charge and lvl 13 might (+1 to all skills set bonus from angelics) my charge dmg ends up being 463-784 and 1013 AR.

Also if anyone wants to duel him on Ladder West please PM me, id like to duel some more competent people with him.

Biggins Bonnet for a helmet, its the only classic helmet of choice for LLD-ers as it adds 30% ED which is always nice. Lacking Biggins Bonnet its really up for grabs, Sigons helmet adds 30 mana which is nice.

If you're willing to do a rebuild, consider this: 10 points in STR = 30 points in life for a paladin. Bloodfists add 40 life, which is 10 points more, and you gain 30% FHR. Hsarus belt + boots add 20% run/walk, 20% CR, 25% FR and 120 AR (10 AR/level). BF+Hsarus is a slightly better combo than Sigons (10 life, 30% FHR). Its just a little bit, but a little bit can amount to a lot.

Armorwise your options are very limited: Angelic armor (not a bad choice, to be quite honest, because of the + 50 mana in the 3-item bonus. Charge is expensive), Blinkbat Form (10% run/walk, 40% FHR) and Greyform (some res and 10 to dex). Angelics aint that bad though, so you might as well stick with it.

Using the Angelic set armor also gives you huge defense and +1 to all skills.
