Basically I was given a choice, take it back with no hard drive or wait longer to get it cleaned. They have to remove the material in some way before returning it.

I told him I didnt wish to buy a new HD and all that crap so it may take a bit more time.

If he offered that 6 weeks ago when this all went down I would of took it without HD in a heart beat!

I've got a whole pile of old hard drives. They're all 2-10 Gigs, though. You want me to mail 'em to you? Unfortunately, I think half of them have 3.11 installed... and I'm not sure which half...

EDIT: If it's anything like where I work, your HD's probably sitting on the corner of some Tech's desk being used as a coaster, while he does 'more important things'.

I would have just bought another hard drive and used that other one they cleaned as an extra for storage. ~450 gigs for me on mine, and I still have to use my old one for more storage, and delete stuff, sigh.

You haven't lost your characters to expiring yet have you? It has only been 6 weeks, but if you didn't play a character for ~ a month before that, it could be a problem.

I have (2) buddies that i have played DII with since the beginning that have been covering for me. Back in 2005 when I went to Guild Wars I gave both of them my PW's and I still havent changed them and they are very trustable guys, they were both like 11-12 when they first started running with me and we stay in touch even when not gaming together.

All my mules were burnt in except (1) and it was burnt in as soon as I let them know what was up.

BTW...my system was bought in 2001, its an Alienware and it still rocks for DII, but its loosing its touch for new games and I dont intend to put more money into it especially when all I am playing right now is DII. But like I said, if he would of said 6 weeks ago that it would take 4-6 weeks and you can have it back without the HD now, I would of went for it but now when it should only mean a few more days or something like that, its not worth all the work to get it all set back up.......Got a ton of DLing just in Guild Wars stuff! That and Alienware installs things in their systems and I really dont want to deal with trying to get that back in, I have disks, but I am a DRIVER of puters, not a Tech! ;)

Trolling = being abusive, annoying, rude, flaming etc.

Lurking = reading threads but never or hardly posting.


Good to hear you still have all your characters, it sucks to have them expire. But from what I hear, that not an issue anymore.....

Trolling = pointless posts to generate pointless arguements on pointless subjects... for instance, posting "blahblahblah PKing is evil and only lame kids with no lives and low self esteem do it" is trolling. Especially if you frequent the forums and know that the discussion has been done to death... that example wouldn't really be trolling if someone new to HC and subsequently this forum were to post it. One example of a troll is Bongos.

Lurking = reading frequently without posting. If your join date is from 2003, you've been reading frequently since then, and your post count is 10, that'd qualify you as a lurker. I don't think you qualify there, either.

Words that could describe you more accurately "posting/poster", "using/user", "member"... I dunno... just regular words like that.

Ironically my join date is 2003. I made a new account, as my old game acct was Piecekeeper which matched my old acct here. I switched to a new acct and prefer the username Piece as thats what I prefer to be called in game.

Technically multiple accounts aren't allowed. You haven't abused the privileges on either of your accounts so I doubt anyone will get too worked up over it. Still I wouldn't go announcing to every forum and every mod that you mad another account for ****s and giggles.
