Opinions on best all around mf sorcs

Title speaks for itself. What are everyone's opinion on the best all-around mf sorc? This speaks for mfin keys, meph, baal, the works. What would b the best build to do it all?

Lightning sorc with infinity or a meteorb would do these runs well.

Meteorbs are fairly cheap and very versatile, and aren't that much slower than lightning sorcs IMO. I run Eldritch/Shenk, Pindleskin, Mephisto, Countess, and Andarial right now (no gg equipment and Burning Souls still rape me, so no solo Baal runs...yet), and each run takes me about six or seven minutes on average, most of which is spent finding Durance 3, the Tower and each of the 5 stairs down, and Cats 4.

Lightning sorc with Infinity would probably be best, though, if cost is not an issue.

IMO: for all-around, not just one boss.
I like my current MeleeNova sorc.
keys:I run only dest keys, because its fastest and can trade 1to2 anyway.
bosses:only Dia and Baal(clearing all lvls if not hard monsters), because those bosses are surrounded by tc85 areas.
Pits+Maggot3+Ancient tunnel+Travi temples all goes fast and easy.

No andy,meph,arcane or tower, no point to run those anymore.

In my opinion MF loses it's appeal after some point. I mean, 95% of uniques / sets that are worth picking up have a value of a few pgems or < Pul. If you have built enough wealth to build an Infinity it is better to run with 0 mf for charms, socketables and keys and maximize your killing speed in areas such as CS, WSK and Nihlathak levels.

Sounds sensible, but there are people who are into being self-found on everything. I can see the appeal of being either self-found or not.

Heh I find it hard to imagine many people being self-found myself. I'm there to 75 on my first character, with nothing remotely like infinity, but started trading on my second character right away. Wouldn't be surprised if a lot of people do that. Being self-found gets less compelling once you leave nightmare.

I'm guessing it's NL? I'd think it takes years to get those kind of runes legit. It takes 64 Guls to cube the two Bers and the chances of actually finding one is astronomically small.

These two statements are completely contradictory and somewhat humorous when placed in the same post :tongue: I think any runeword that reads "ber mal ber ist" qualifies as 'super high end gear' for most people.

yes it is. and the person who has said 100% legit infinity stick used an Insight for one HELL of a long time while they collected the requisit runes & cubed like a nutter to make said infinity stick.

and even that person will tell you, you don't NEED one to get through hell with ease. it just makes it faster, thats all.

There's a cubed infinity stick on HC ladder!

I'm really impressed with the dedication it took to cube up, but dang... 500 Hell forges would be rough!

For sorks, though. I haven't played a two tree build yet. Not sure if I like lightning or fire skills. Both are pretty dang cool. Maybe I'll try both!

For HC I like Blizzard Meteor sorc. Both timered, AOE.

My meteorb is so much fun I'm sure I'll try at least one or two more sorc builds after this. Lightning sounds really fun if you can get the wealth together.
