Azurewrath smite question

I've been tinkering with a conviction zealot that and tagged along into uber trist to see how well he did. While he survived (for the most part,) I was very disappointed in the speed smite took down the ubers life. I'm only running 30-40% CB (Duress and Gores or Goblin Tow) and was thinking the lit damage from my dream shield would add alot to the killing speed of smite. Well, after a few searches, I found that aura based damage mods do not attach to smite. Well, since I need to increase my CB, I'm looking at 2 routes. One is to Ber my Azurewrath to get to 50-60% or find a different weapon. My first choice is to stick with the Azurewrath, but I need to know:

I suggest to get a different weapon, like Stormlash (socket with shael or an IAS/something jewel if you don't use fanaticism, it depends on the IAS you already have) or something which adds to damage like Grief does and has CB as well, like the Redeemer+Ber. Additional damage helps to kill the über when he's down to a sliver and CB gets irrelevant. Stormlash is also very good versus the minions. Its ctc static will already soften them up while you fight the über himself.
