Hi,

Which is the best hybrid sorc build for the pits?
I'm really hate situations like throne of destruction where
I must sit and wait with my cold sorc, while the merc
tries to finish achmel's minions and any OK revives achmel
manages to rise and I don't like to encounter that same
situation in the pits.

I have read a dosen guides, that advertise different builds.
For example meteorb, blizzard/meteor/fireball/glacial spike, and
even frozen orb/lightning tree hybrids.
Any impressions?

My favourite is the Fireball/Orb Sorceress. 25 points into the Cold Spells tree to max Orb + prereqs, 20 in Fire Ball, Meteor and Fire Bolt, then rest to Fire Mastery. Tal Rasha's set grants you the +1-2 to Cold Mastery that you need to increase Frozen Orb's effectiveness. More commonly known as a Meteorb.

You can achieve a 7k+ Fire Ball and 550+ Orb quite easily with a full Tal's set + Spirit setup, which is powerful enough for what the Pit has to offer.

Fire Ball takes out 90% of the monsters; the Skeletons, both ranged and melee rogue-types. The Devilkin are Fire Immune, and are pretty weaksauce, a screen of them can be taken down with 3-4 orbs.

Rarely you'll come across a fire enchanted skeleton/dark rogue boss pack that's both Cold and Fire Immune; they can be killed easily with a merc. Or maybe a cold enchanted Devilkin Shaman boss who's dual immune as well.

Speaking of mercs, I prefer a Prayer/Insight merc on a Meteorb, basically because you've already got ways to deal with immunes (two elements), and Prayer/Insight's gg life and mana regen makes you practically invincible if you're careful to stay out of melee and let your merc tank as much as possible. You don't really need Infinity's Conviction, because you'll already have -15% or more Fire Res and -80% to -100% or more Cold Res to work with.
