max defend on my stromshield

how much is max def on a stormshield with my lvl 89 barb i dont realy understand how to calculate it my mat always sucked

assume max base def (148), then add 3.75*89 and you get 481.75, not sure if it rounds down or up... then if you add a pul rune, multiply the result by 1.3

That part's wrong. You only multiply the base def by 1.3, then add the [3.75*clvl] after, if you're adding a Pul rune.

In that case, a +def jewel would be better, no? Since Pul only affects the base giving a shade under 45 def total, and +def jewels can add up to +64/other mods.
