+3/-5 lit facet make much difference?

Hi,

I'm working on my MF pure lit sorc. Her gear is as follows:
Rare 2/20fcr/20res tiara
2/15fcr ammy
Nigma
Spirit mon
crescent moon military pick :)
soj
10fcr ring
arach
lavagout
war travs
4or5 lit skillers
anni/storch

merc uses infinity.

I'm wondering if i a single 3/-5 lit facet will make much difference in killing speed. My tiara is screaming to be socketed...

Since you already have CM, the difference won't be astounding.

oops magefists, sorry. thx for the response. i thought maybe another -5 resist would help, but i'll have to think of something else to socket the tiara with.

You would do an average of 1,500 more damage, on monsters with > 20% lightning resistance. Add three more lightning skillers to that, and the average increase goes to 9,388 (17+ skills without facet vs 20+ skills with facet).

Overall, 1,500 more damage on average is not going to change your killing speed, but overall everything adds up.

i'd say 9k difference is substantial, but to get there, i'd have to sacrifice room in my inventory to pick stuff up. something i'll have to think about, esp since i just made a gf barb so no need to pick up stuff to charsi.

The 9k number is mostly due to skillers, not due to the facet.

(17+ skills without facet vs 20+ skills with facet).
I'm not sure what relevance comparing these two things has? You can't use extra lightning skillers if you don't use the facet? :scratch:

Are you sure your numbers are correct? A 9k increase with just +3 skills seems a little too much. The average damage of a max synergized lvl 40 lightning is around 15k?
