War Cry leveling question?

Is it wiser to dump all points in a War Cry synergy to up the damage without upping the mana cost, or putting points in War Cry every level up for the extra stun length? I already have +8 to all skills so I can stun for a good duration at level 30.

I assume you are going to use insight merc, right? He should be able to equip one around lvl27. Then, you don't worry about mana problem :)

My merc will have an Insight, but the one i have is a colossus voulge, so its mana issues till 42 for me.

Even with Insight you can run into mana problems in the earlier stages. With 105 FCR you eventually will use more than 100 mana per second.

Insight is pretty cheap rune-wise. Make one on a scythe and gib to merc :P

I used to have one pure WC barb. I think with dual wizzy+Insight, you should be able to spam WC for a while.

Ok noone has really answered the question it seems, seeing as how hes level 30, it makes a difference. No Wizzy's at that level, just the likes of dual Spirits.

Yes, If you plan to walk through the game, i.e. not chaos or get rushed, it is a bit better to pump the synergies up first. I think I do along the lines of Bcry, Howl, then Taunt. All the while getting BO up at the same time, while putting points in Warcry as I get comfortable with the mana cost.

Even with a 17 Med Insight, your mana itself will still be low at lower levels due to not having BO maxed, or most likely not having most of your end game gear on. Having say 300 mana or so at a low level means it can still take a while to regenerate.

Yeah, I do notice that he is in lower level now :) Wcry or even my Leap GF barb are very difficult in the beginning of the game. I just try to join tomb runs from lvl15-20 and cow runs from 20-24, get the ancient to lvl25, then baal runs till lvl45. Continue to leech till you are level 75+ in nm baal runs. Usually, not too many people complain my leeching since I BC/BO/Shout them. They are happy with my existence :)

I started doing major leveling yesterday, so now I'm at level 50, maxed War Cry and Bo and pumping points into Battle Cry for synergy.

My gear is pretty okay, I bought most of it with a couple gems... the only bad thing is that I cannot seem to find specially cheap SoJs :P


Anyhow, my only question right now would be what's best for my merc's helm and armor, thanks for all the other info guys!

Depand on what you want from your merc :) For tank, Vgaze (eth) is a good option for DR and LL. Eth bugged Fort will be best but expensive. Cheap option will be G-Bane for DR, CBF, Duriel Shell for resist, CBF. Stone, Treachery, and Duress are all good.
