OK, so everyone here who frequents the HC forums has seen a thread pop up from time to time, where someone is new/restarted/switching realms or for whatever reason has chosen to play on USEast. Well, something else that usually pops up is the mention of OP xbananax as a good place to hang out and meet fellow respectable gamers. The problem with this is, alot of people may not bother to hang out in the channel, or may already be in game, may just not be on at the moment, etc etc, so the channel may be empty. I personally jump right into games and don't visit the channel that much, or when I have, people seem to be afk.

Sometimes it can be hard to find something like a Baal run, and it would be nice to be able to have a bigger list of people to ask if they would like to join you. It can be particularly nice to have a solid teleporter, BO, or just someone to kill those pesky Oblivion Knights when you are a melee build.

Then, there is always that cloud of mistrust with new people. I have yet to have a problem with it on these forums, but you never know when a troll could come passing by and be setting you up for a TPPK or scam of some sort. I feel I can trust everyone on my friends list to make the same judgment on people as me, so if they vouch for someone, i'll feel safe to play with them.

Also, there is the getting bored and moving on thing. Some people who post here stop playing for whatever reason and move on.

So anyways, I figured that we needed a updated thread of people who are looking to game with fellow forum goers. The thing is, everyone has different level characters, you probably don't want to be doing normal Baal's with a level 70+ character. Then there are times where you may be busy doing other things like running Countess repeatedly for a Hel rune or the likes and don't have the time to stop to do other things. People also have different time schedules, I for one am on the west coast, so I am ~3 hours off from everyone else. So this way, by being able to expand your friends list, you will have a higher chance of someone being able to join you for whatever you feel up to doing at that time, be it Baaling, Chanting, Questing, Untwinking, Dueling, or whatever floats your boat. Also, it helps meet more people that you can do stuff with at a later date.

So to start off, i'll list myself, and a few thing to know about me if you want to add me to your friends list, that way you get a better idea of things.

I have a habit of switching back and forth between the two depending on what I feel like doing at the moment. The problem is this makes it tricky to add both if you are short on space, understandable. However, I have 2 copies, so via fast user switching I run 2 instances of D2 just about at all times therefore taking advantage of being able to BO myself (cheesy maybe, but meh). I use my Berserker Barb to do so, and he is located on the second account, so chances are I will have at least one character on that account, but also may not be checking the message log when I switch to him for a quick BO.

I have a chanter to help jump start new characters, the chant is only ~1.3k to ~1.8k, but it is more than enough to clear normal with ease.

I tend to play more at night time from ~6 p.m. PST to ~1 a.m. PST. It varies due to work, but most of the time i'm on during those hours. Only exception is the 2 days a week I get off that I am on pretty much all day.

I have characters who could pretty much at any time use either NM or Hell Baal's. I am also able to teleport quite well (of course someone with BO is desirable) and have also proven my skills in doing so with even mid level gear (See CTA round 2).

I can rush normal and NM fast and effectively, but slow down a bit in Hell. Chaos is still a bit tricky, but I'm working on either a Hammerdin or Poison Necro for that. I usually don't mind rushing people, as long as they know how to get rushed. I.e. don't go afk, or don't ask why they can't go in the TP, or spam TP or other nonsense (this ain't noobcore, err I mean SC people)

I have a Zealot/1pt Smiter who is capable of taking down the 3 Uber's and Diablo clone if help is needed.

I try to respond to whispers as soon as I can, it can be tricky in the heat of battle, so if for some reason I do not respond, try again. Chances are I just missed it for whatever reason. I tend to not go afk for long periods of time while I am signed on, so chances are I should respond quick enough.

Hopefully my lead will get more of us to post as well, and we can then have a nice solid list of people who still play. If this thread ends up going over well, and once we get of enough people, I may end up posting a new thread as a summary kinda deal with just account names, and this one could be the cluttered one. I just would make sure to get your permission before posting anything I wasn't sure about.

Basically, the whole premise of this thread is to expand ones friends list, all in one thread. If you are new, and would like to add anyone that (hopefully) posts in here, an introductory post with your account name and a bit about you would be nice so we can get to know you.

First off this is a great post.

Second, I agree with the Op Xbananax thing, I always go in there but unless an organized event is supposed to be happening, the channel is either empty or the people in it are afk. I to find myself going afk in there, as well as just joining games without even going in to a channel.

Right now I have a sorc (level 67) that i'm trying to nm baal / hell chaos / hell baal to level up that i'm going to be using to mf / rush and I would be more then happy to rush people and help them out the best that I can, because I haven't been coming to these forums for long, but I already have had a lot of hands extended to me for help. Once I get my sorc up and running 100% and I start to MF and aquire an enigma hoto and so on. I'll probably end up making either a psn necro or a bone necro. *shrug* But I would be more then happy to be part of a "leveling team". If anyone needs help with something just send me a pm, my accout is;

I usually play a little bit everyday depending on my plans. I work 50+ hours a week which limits my play to night as well. Usually around 5:30 cst until 10:30 cst depending if I go out or not. Then the weekend is a toss up as well because I enjoy my time off of work to be able to go out and do things.

I'm on East actually. Most of us here play East, so if you haven't built up too much so far on West, I would HIGHLY recommend switching. I did, and I haven't regretted it once.

Yeah I know those days. I am at work now. Every day Monday through Saturday 7:15 am - 5 pm. It's boat loads of fun :-D

I have work until 5 today (duh) and after work i'm going to the tattoo parlor to get my sleeve finished...well the last bit of outline done, and then my left arm is going to be 100% done in about another month, which i'm pretty excited about. So I should be able to get home around 8:30 cst unless I go over to my lady's house, which means I won't be on at all tonight. But if I don't get on tonight, then I should be on for at least a little tomorrow and I can add both your accounts, and maybe we can get some NM baals done.

I'm Zinc on these forums *KhlavKhalash [USEAST] in game. I'm new to the forum, but I've spent alot of work hours learning the ins and outs of item generation, TCs, etc. so I may have some use. I have a friend I play with normally: *spacemole, he rarely says a word but is a good guy nontheless... bad luck with hammerdins though, real bad...

Anyway, I've got 2 chars ready for intense NM Baaling. A FC Druid (lev.66) and a Javazon (lev.54), both are reasonably well-outfitted chars for their levels and are at the NM Baal stage of their development. I've spent quite a few hours helping whomever I can, including spacemole's 3rd hammerdin to grace the realms.

Looking for games most nights between 8-1 EST weeknights and much later on weekends. I have two accounts, though the second is for storage, so I spend the majority of my time on KK.

Yes, pk is bad....many of us don't even play public games at all. Lag is almost as bad sometimes, learn to save and exit. Best to party up in a passworded genuine co-op game.

Hi Im Dave and Im a Hardcore-Aholic ...

I work nights - Midnight to 8am Central time .. Therfore I game odd hours .. Usually a couple hours after work 9am - 11 am and then from 8pm till 11pm .
Im not exclusively playing D2 atm either . I play Guildwars and Im also playing Nwn 2 MotB ..

In D2 Im currently only interested in Uber Tristing so Im usually just playing solo games to collect keys or Mfing a bit .. All of my current characters are in Hell and over level 70 , but I rarely do endless Baal runs . I like to complete all quests in every level ( yes even the Gidbin in Hell mode ) and actually play the game . I usually check Op XbananaX when I log in but it has been empty a lot lately .

Thanks for the responses. It's something I've had in mind to do for quite a while now, I just procrastinated on it like I do with just about everything else. Being stuck at work when its slow for 12 hours can motivate you to do things to keep your sanity.

I'm mostly either dueling, making duelers, or magic finding, though I have a couple PvMers I'm playing through slowly. I usually run various parts of hell with my MFer/BOer combo, but I like doing areas more than bosses, so if anyone's looking for some experience and wants to tag along, I'd love the company :) (I mostly run baals/eldritch/shenk, but I mix in The Pit, Ancient Tunnels, Icy Cellar and whatever the other one similar to the Icy Cellar in act5 is)

I'm also almost always up for some team MFing, either different areas in the same game, or teaming up in a given area. (funbob and I were rippin up some games earlier like this!)

I can also normal/nightmare rush people for free most of the time (rush most of the time that is, it's always free for diabloii.netters though!)

So feel free to give me a shout on *DarkSideOfTMoon if you're looking for some company! I don't think I've ever done that faces thread someone linked to a page back, maybe I'll go put one of mine up too :smiley:

Yeah, you might as well add me to the list. I don't think anyone will want to play with my bowa unless they know me.

Why wouldn't I trade the torch? 1/7 that it will even be the class I want. 3/10 that it will be the stats I want. 3/10 that it will be the res I want. Or a :fortuneteller: 1.2% chance it will be any variation of a torch I want.

Coupled with the fact that I could buy the torch I want with the price of an unid torch, since other classes are more popular. :thumbsup:

I don't usually venture into op xbananax anymore, but when i do it's usually due to doing nothing for a few hour's. I usually end up providing a private chant/bo/boost exp game for starting player's. I can usually be found on the account o0o0o0 (letter number letter number letter number).

This really isn't entirely accurate.

as of Dec 10th (ish) I will be able to play online again, though I am pretty happy with my SP play currently. So it will be more like, I'll pop on from time to time to say hello, see how everyone is, and perhaps the occasional Iron Man, whatever.

And also, whoever it was who suggested having someone else refresh my character, it was good idea, but I'm sure she is long gone, and wasn't anything special anyway (#DR zon for running Pindle)... meh. I quit b.net in favor of RL (you can pause the game in SP, and I really like that) so I don't plan on making any full on comebacks, but I do miss the old xbananax-ers.

28 people now, woot. Now why though does noone want to join my Hell Baal's when i ask? Pfft..... I need to do some more adding it seems when I get home, I don't think I have added anyone since my last post.

I will be on most of tomorrow, and will be up for lots of Hell Baal's. I can port most of them, but I would also like to level stuff like my kicker who isn't so adapt to running them, so at those times we make have to walk to Baal, or someone else port. I can provide BO but my distaste for having to switch back and forth is high, so hopefully someone is leveling a Barb, or is willing to take up the task of the BO biatch.

If anyone notices a certain player not being on that much, or not on period, try to let me know. I'd like to keep the list as accurate and up to date as possible. Although it may be mean, I may start bumping people off if they are not on anymore, making 2 lists and the like. I will though try to be sure before doing so.

Likewise, other things to note are if for some reason, anyone on this list ever does something distrustful, please, please post it here (!)with proof(!) of said act. I would like to keep this list full of trustworthy people and not let any scammers/tppk'er and the likes in.

On the opposite end of that, if someone new (i.e. low post count or the likes) is someone that can be trusted for whatever reason (Brother, sis, cousin, long time friend etc) a vouch for them can go a long way. It may not make us all trust them instantly, but it can help overcome the initial wall.

Bumping for a few reasons

1. I finally broke down and made another account *Shin so chances are I may be on it make new chars, either my new Light Sorc (I love her btw) or a soon to be Bone Necro. Thinking a Charger for kicks too, and to make use of all my maxers. Probably a Singer as well.

2. It REALLY needs to be updated. Problem is, I don't know how. I don't know who still even all plays, just a few. So I bolded the ones I still see on, post here leading me to believe they still play or see in channel on a regular basis. If you still play, and want to remain on this list, please, please post here stating so, otherwise you may be removed. That may be demanding alot, or be mean, but in the end I think it's only fair.

3. If anything account wise has change, i.e. new/deleted account, let me know.

More about the bold thing - It is hard for me to tell who is on, since my f list is limited to 25 people. I have some of the inactive ones on it, which I need to remove to make room for those who still play. If I did NOT bold your name, and therefore made a mistake because you still play, please let me know. You just may find your way onto my f list.

After taking a break, I'm playing again (East). I decided to go hardcore and I like what I've read here.

I'm currently working on two characters: a necro summoner (lvl 87) and a fire/cold sorc (lvl 74). The necro makes Baal hell runs, the sorc is starting act 1 hell.

I'm back from a looong stay in WoW. When I left I was playing almost exclusively HC with my guild, KLS on east. All of KLS has moved on, some to wow, some to life, and since I'm back I don't play HC. I believe that it is becuase I don't really have friends in game anymore. HC is hard to solo, as you all know very well, because death alone means losing everything.

I'm going to hang here in the forums a bit and get to know folks, and perhaps roll up a little character in hc to screw around with. Hopefully I'll be playing all hc again soon.

where to start...I've been playing d2 since i was 12 and i'm 18 now. I've played on both east and west in the past couple years. The past 2 years i been on west playing with a clan of people who play both sc and hc. It's been a fun time and still is though I'd like to meet up with people who are on more around the same time I am. I have a love for hc and I always read that east has more friendly hc gamers. I know on west I haven't been able to find to many new hc gamers that have been "friendly". anyway to cut this short. On a important note, once the reset has fully kicked in, I suppose I should get off my lazy butt and update this thread better for those who are partaking in the new ladder. I would now, but like said, I am lazy, and I am not sure who will stick with the ladder, or who will get sick of it fast.

I may even make a S5 Ladder We-are thread since alot of people on the old list aren't even around anymore.

I think a new season thread is a good idea. My primary playing acct will change slightly because *zappafan has 8 characters on it and I don't plan on deleting any of those, so I'm going to have to create a new primary acct for my new season non-mule ladder characters

Hello all,

I've been lurking around here since 2003 and never really introduced myself. They call me gerb and i play under the account *gerber-kid on USEAST. I decided to start playing this game again when I heard the ladder was resetting. Basically I'm going to be hanging around op xbananax from now on so you guys better get use to me. I usually play a summon necro and plan on playing one tomorrow. Hopefully there will be enough people hanging out tomorrow itn he channel to get a few full squads together. Well GL to everyone on the new ladder season.

I agree with the above. For those of us who are relatively new maybe a new thread would be cool, something like "friends for the new ladder season". Or I suppose we could just drop in sometime and figure it out on our own o.O
