Ok so as I understand it shields work in this fashion:

- 75% is the max block chance
- there is a 33% penalty when attacking or moving

Now, if I say have a total block of say 90% from my equipment, and i am attacking, will my block chance be (90 - 33 = 58%) or (75 - 33 = 42%)?

if it is the latter, then that means for all intents and purposes in combat I can only block 42% of attacks and not 75%?

the 33% penalty is 1/3 blocking so you get 25% instead of 75%, I don't know how it would work if you had blocking greatly exceeding 75% though

Blocking is reduced to 1/3 when you run, but there is no penalty when you stand still and fight, or when you walk.

The original question is very interesting. If you have 90% blocking (capped at 75%) and run, does it get reduced to 25 or 30? I donīt know.

When running, blocking is capped at 25%.

There is no block penalty when attacking? i thought i read somewhere that there was......

well hopefully there isn't. Otherwise shields would seem kind of worthless other than for socketing diamonds.
