View Full Version : P v M Enchantress help needed!
I am trying to make an Enchantress that is capable of handling herself in hell. I was wondering if anyone could help me out with max block dex for a spirit monarch and any other tips or advice they could have for this certain build? I am thinking of doing all the enchant and then orb as a 1-2 punch. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks.

spirit won't be a good shield. If you are on a low budget scale at least aim for stormshield then, or otherwise a shield with decent block like upped visc. A fun way to learn meleesorc could also be to use all parts of the ik-set except the helmet. It gives a pretty solid setup with leeching capabilities. I'd recommend energyshield with 20 points into telekineses with it. Or energyshield + an insight merc. For the rest aim for lifeleech and manaleech on your items. Swinging a big maul with a sorc is just badass. Throw a few points in cold mastery and light mastery and you have
fire damage, light damage, cold amage, physical damage and crushing blow.
Also look for a demon machine xbow on your switch for a ranged attack, for when things get rough. The exploding arrows work like a fireball.
Without dual dream an enchantress only gets fire damage from her skills. So you should look for other damage sources on your gear/weapon, because unfortunately in hell there are a loooot of fire immunes wich makes it very hard for you to be effective there. An example for a cheap weapon would be a gimmershred (no, i don't mean myself). At least throw 1 point into lightmastery and cold mastery also then

Melee sorc can handle hell very well. Typical run is to kill all monsters along the way while walking to baal. If iron maiden knights are near, then I tele past.
For leveling, full game maggot lair (no fire immunes) is perfect place.
Lightsabre is perfect weapon there (ingore target defense and absorb).
My current melee sorc uses Lightsabre Duress Stormshield.
2x Raven and Waterwalk boots to get enough (about 200) dex for max block.
Might merc with Reapers Toll + Duress armor to help killing those fire immunes.
Can solo everywhere without merc, but merc helps a lot when clearing pits/ancient tunnel/travi temples in full games.
With lvl 43 enchant I got about 11k-14k melee damage, about 500-2000 without enchant, so good merc and crushing blow helps against tough fire immunes.
Current build
1 static, 1 telekinesis, 1 teleport
20 enchant,20fire mastery,20 Warmth,1 fire bolt, 1 fire ball
20 lightning mastery
couple points in shiver armor and rest in cold mastery (-100 resist)
For Nihla (dest key) runs, I change weapon to Lawbringer (in phase blade), so I can kill all monsters around Nihlatuk without exploding problem. I use Lawbringer too if I solo diablo, or when iron maiden cursing knights are in Throne.
I like Lightsabre (its hard to tele past souls with 20 or zero fcr) because it give huge lighting absorb, so I am immune to souls damage. No need to use Thunder belt, so I can use other belt (Arach/Verdungo).
Passion is good too, but I hate that weapon when mana burners are near. Its hit and kill anyway, so zeal is not needed for current build. Shako/Mara+anni are needed to get max zeal attacks.
Stormlash is good weapon too, very rare, so hard to find.
I tried Voice of Reason runeword with this char, at lower lvl its was hard to hit with it, but when I got past lvl85 its is actually quite good weapon too. Good when helping merc against Lister pack.
Those IK set items are good too, but much easier to survive with max block.
Energyshield is good too, easy to survive with it, but those manaburners kind of ruins its totally.
Use that spirit shield only to tele around and to boost enchant.
Thanks for the info...couple of questions. What do you use for a helm? +3 to fire or something like shako? also, why do you max light mastery? Thanks a lot!

Shako with ias jool. Helps with 50 ias needed for fastest attack with phase blade. Helps with Psysical reduction, 45 with shield. Life and little mf dont hurt either.
Light mastery is maxed to boost lightning damage in lightsabre. Some small lightning damage charms with 17-20 life in pocket too, so its boost that damage too. So its gives about 1000 lighting damage, enough to kill those small fire immunes fast.
Actually, no good place to put those extra points. I you plan to melee all down. After enchant and synergies, options are lighting mastery, cold mastery and cold armors. Haven't died in last 10 lvls, so no need to boost defense anymore. But if you orb some, then you have some other place to put those extra points.
High lvl cold mastery is to boost cold damage (some cold damage from 2 ravens, from armor and spare weapon). Too much extra points, needed to put somewhere.
I made that melee sorc to clear diablo area fast, just opening sinets. But it was too hard with all iron maiden cursing knights. It was easy to survive there, but killing speed was not good enough. Planning to do new melee caster hydrid, to clear that area just opening sinets.
Melee sorc dont have much fcr anyway, so easy to access boss/TC85 is nice to have.
Weapon of choice for this new one is Crescent Moon

-35% To Enemy Lightning Resistance
25% Chance of Open Wounds
+9-11 Magic Absorb (varies)
+2 To Mana After Each Kill
Level 18 Summon Spirit Wolf (30 Charges)

Its perfect for new attempt. It has ITD, 20ias (hits fastest break point with 15ias jool and 20ias gloves). Chain Lightning and Static helps against to little fire immunes monsters that are in pits/everywhere.
I max Ligthing mastery anyway, so that -35% is godly. Planning to max nova too to kill those Iron maiden cursing cold immune knights. Rest I can melee to death easily. Nova is perfect for leveling past norm and nmare anyway.
With good items, enchant gives way too much damage, so no need to put 60 points there. Aiming for 7-10k melee damage this time.

DH Amazon, your first build seems intresting , could you post the full stats and equip please? I want to build a melee sorc also but atm i am not rich enought to build a dual dream sorc. How are you doing in WS K? And when hunting for Dkey how does it go when you meet this sneaky bug snake down the stairs?

That snake, can only kill mercs, not chars. Same with running through clouds (other char) or just teleing (sorc). Sure it hurts a little, but not that much.
And if my poison resist sucks, I buy 3xantidotes and drink them before entering there, to get 85 poison resist for a min or two.
Found all items by myself, so not best items, but not so bad either.
After equipping items, I got about 200-210 str,210 dex (to get max block),
1150-1250 life and enough energy(dont need that)
Not sure about hard points, but str is near 156 anyway, dex about 140 and
rest to vitality. Lvl89 sorc now. Removing life charms after each level, that 1100 life is more than enough for max block sorc. That extra 100 is to add little safe margin during those Nihlaruns. And helps too when hacking during iron maiden curse.
After changing to act2 merc, I dont do diabloruns anymore. Killing couple knights in Throne is no problem, but clearing whole area under curses takes too much time. I just tele past those knights now. I dont do full game boss runs with this char anyway, this is more or less charm-hunter. Only 50mf+gheeds (for gampling).
Clearing whole Ancient way+caves (in full game) or clearing whole maggot (in full game) are typical runs. Pits, ancient tunnel, travi temples and river part of act4 are good runs for full/near full games too.
More life is of course better, but I like to play at edge, giving at least small change for monster if they get lucky shot. So I drink quite a lot of bottles,
red ones are enough. I hate those purple ones (basically there is something terrible wrong in build if you need to use those to keep alive).
Charms:
1/20/20/9 anni or 1/20/20/5 don't rememver which one, but that last value don't matter (found 2xanni so far, both kind of godly)
4x20 life small ones, some with other mods
4-5x19 life with other mods
couple 18 life, with good resist
sorc torch (dont remember stats)
I dont' use skillers( got 6 sorc skillers, but they just took too much space)
4-5 x 5all ress small chams, some with fhr. 13xall res+3? life grand.
Not sure what else charms, but fhr is 2nd mod in lots of them. Some 17life with 11resist small ones too.
So resist are 80/75/75/30 (antidote gives 50 boost for that poison one)
Some stacked resist, not sure how much, but conviction Sparky near meph goes down nicely. Sword helps there too.
To prebuff (I do only if full game, not needed for nihlaruns, or while soloing)
+3circle+3amu+2shield+5orb+2armor+arch+2sojs+1anni +3torch+1gloves=43
gives good damage for 19min.
Reapers Toll, Duress and that limegreen ugly looking helmet for merc.
180 def Shako (15ias), (15ias+def jool, never bothered to change that, socketed that in 1st week in ladder)
Duress+Stormshield(diamond)+Lightsabre
backup (+5enchant+spirit) to do nice lvl enchant without prebuffing
Loh gloves (20ias 50 fire resist),verdungo (to get max 50% physical red),waterwalk(dex, life,to get 80 fire resist)
Mara (low)+2ravens
Usually Vergundo is not needed, so Arach takes that place. When killing Death lords, Ancients Nihlatuk or during Pit runs that 50% helps, elsewhere 45% is more than enough.
Lawbringer sword for Nihla and Dia runs, low damage, aura pushed undead away (fun when those undead can charge again and again near nihla). When amp or when nihla has fana aura, they might get lucky shot. But no corpses,
so its easy to kill all near nihla

When playing with rogue merc, I use this sword to kill those Lister/other high damage fire immunes. Reaper Toll merc can tank and kill those now.

Sorry about long and hard to follow post. I didn't log bnet to check char, but I think I remember at least something right.
About that low str and everything to vitality. I dont mind putting +30-50 extra to str. Helps so much at low level. After lvl80 and 1000 life you are kind of godly anyway. Adding more to vit just gives more safe margin, not really helping anymore.
OFF:
My current lvl60 nova+inferno sorc just did alone whole act1 and act2 in hell. That sorc had way too low life and no block, but just died once, Duri get luck shot. Maggot was hard, could't kill there, so needed to to grap that staff.
That was too extreme for me, but nice attempt anyway. Just trying to say that learn to keep sorc alive even at low life, helps a lot when you fight against all odds later part of the game.
New question: Has anyone ever tried to use Passion runeword on a melee sorc? It gives you one in Zeal and I am wondering what the comparable damage is when using something like Lightsabre. Currently my melee sorc is coming along quite well. Has lightsabre, stormshield, verdungos, as my big ones but I am highly considering using Passion instead of Lightsabre. Can anyone help with the dmg differential or if Zeal was successful on a sorceress??

Way better damage (because its faster and ar boost) against non fire immunes and bosses.
If you have problems at killing speed, change to passion. Lightsabre is more allaround choice, not best in any area, but gives enough power with high lvl enchant.
Minor problems, needs mana to attack, luckily not much. Only problem is around manaburners. And you are little longer at same place, cannot tele
away during zeal sequence. And you hit all monsters around you, cannot concentrate just for one.
Anni+Shako gives enough +skills to get max zeal attacks.
edit:
Hit Causes Monster To Flee 25%
this is both good/bad. Flee saves your life, but usually you just need to hunt monsters around to room, especially those fire immunes. Might be very good near nihlatuk, if you use nature piece to prevent corpse explosions.

There are 2 main builds.
The dream enchantress and the pure enchantress.
They both use their fire tree ,except the dream one boosts up lightning mastery and doesn't use fire mastery. She's 10 times as expensive, too.
For a pure fire enchantress , I'd suggest:
Weapon : 1.Passion phaseblade
2.Demon machine
Shield : Spirit monarch , stormshield , sigon's
Helmet : Shako , CoA ,things like that
Belt : String of ears , Verdungo , death
Gloves : Laying of Hands , Draculs , death
Rings + Amulet : Angelic
Boots : Gore Riders or Treks
Since you chose this build , you'd want the maximum possible enchant prebuff level.
The gear is as follows:
Helmet : +3 fire circlet
Amulet : +3 fire amulet
Weapon : Hexfire or +6 enchant orb
Shield : Spirit or Viscerenaut
Gloves : Magefist
Rings : BKs or SoJs
Belt : Arachnid
Armor : Enlightment armour (better ,to be honest) or enigma , if you're a showoff
