View Full Version : Reequip Order

What is the order that equipment is replaced on your character after picking up your corpse? I'm sure this question had been asked several times, and although I have found many answers, they all seem to be different.

A list I found on the Battle.net forums says:

Head
Neck
Torso
Right Arm
Left Arm
Right Ring
Left Ring
Belt
Feet
Gloves
Inventory (meaning charms, etc.)

Right hand from the character's perspective, so glove side and then boot side.

Other than the inventory being last (not only have I, myself, proven that inventory comes first, not last, it only makes sense: when you die your inventory is not emptied, so you still carry around all of your charms after dying), every thing else looks more or less correct.

What I may end up doing, once I have all of the equipment that I plan to use, is simply save up some points, and if I enter a game and something is not equipped, I will add points to strength until every thing is equipped when I do enter a game (same thing goes if I die and can't pick up every thing at once). That is unless, of course, somebody knows of the true order.

I never had any problems with the order of items when picking up a corpse, so for me it just seems to be a question of whether I exploited the str bug or not and perhaps that equipment order issue is outdated. However, I don't care too much about investing into str to equip items before my characters can wear endgame stuff (although I will use +str charms and the like for that), so correct me if I'm wrong.

You don't lose items in your inventory when you die, so battle.net must have some kind of confusing text on that. Items that you can't wear because you exploited str from other items go to your inventory whenever they were supposed to equip.

Yeah, I found that out by experimenting with it myself. Basically, I want to be able to only have to pick up one corpse, should I happen to die (I also intend to have a moslty full inventory later, anyway). Also, I recently made a Zeal/Smiter, and because I didn't put a single point into strength I actually had to equip an amulet that had a bunch of strength, then take the amulet back off to wear everything, and I had to do this everytime I joined a game.

regardless of the topic few points into str doesnt hurt any build, esp if you need to apply a amulet to equip- plus smite dmg is helped by increased strength.

If the equipment order thing is still in effect, you might have to click the corpse multiple times because you need e.g. the armor to wear the helm. When parts of the equipment lands in the inventory, you have to equip it manually as well, either between the clicks on the corpse or at a later time. That can be a little problematic in certain situations.

I finally decided to put 17 points into strength. This brings my base strength to 42, and with my Annihilus, Torch, Shako and Mara's I have enough strength to wear my HoZ, which will inturn allow me to wear my Archon Plate and Sandstorm Trek (assuming that list I posted was correct). However, if I die I will still have to pick up my body a second time because I won't be able to wear my Enigma without the HoZ. Although it isn't too big of a deal as long as I have room in my inventory (well, it's not that big of a deal, anyway).

I may just throw another 14 points into strength so that I only have to pick up my body once, full inventory or not. By the way, I'm talking about my Hammerdin in this case.

Oh, and something unrelated to the topic: do you think a Hammerdin benefits more from damage or cast rate? I was thinking about using a Spirit instead of the HoZ and a +2 Paladin Skills/10% FCR amulet instead of Mara's. This allows me to reach the 125% FCR breakpoint while only losing the +2 Combat Skills from HoZ (and the higher chance to block, but I plan to use a Spirit anyway when I MF with him).

There's a list on this forum, as well. The order should be items which have no requirements that can't be reduced, i.e. those that must be naturally worn, first. This means amulet, then right and left rings (from the page view), then helms, gloves, belt, and boots (since there are quite a few which require no strength to wear). Body armor, shield and weapon should go last, since there are none of the first two which have no strength requirements naturally, and only weapons can require dexterity.

This is Blizzard logic, though.
