Fanat aura Q

Just wondering about the fanatacism aura & why everyone says use beast. It seems like your losing a lot of + skills to hold a beast instead of say...AoKL.

As I understand it you only want beast for the:
1. fanat
2. style pts for being able to turn into a bear w/ a skellie army

The Fanat aura can also come from a faith bow on an A1 fire merc. This would seem more ideal since:
1. Faith has a higher lvl Fanat than Beast
2. Allows you to use a +skills weapon
3. this would make your merc less susceptible to deaths due to IM/being on the front line.

So just wondering why Beast seems to be the more popular method of gaining Fanat. Is it solely so that you can have a might aura as well (i.e. A2 merc) Thx in advance for your insights

fanat increases attack rating and speed, so that is a big plus=)

plus, people use beast cuz they probably want to use an act 2 might merc with pride polearm for greater pwnage=)

oh, i think people use beast as a switch weapon. they probably still use aokl as prebuff to cast skellies and such=)

Yeah, just to add on to zarirazz:

You lose 1 to 2 Skeleton Warriors from switching to Beast, but as long as you summonsed with AoKL, the remaining retain their attributes at the time they were summoned (which is true of all Summons). If you were to compare damage output, Fanta with two less Skeletons wins out against an extra two Skeletons without Fanat.

I assume you mean might as I was comparing fanat from the necro (beast, with a might merc) or fanat from an A1 rogue (faith). But point taken in any case. A couple more skellies & a couple more lvls of fanat will still be less dmg than a couple less skellies, a lower fanat, & a high lvl might aura I guess.

yea, the runeword pride into a polearm on a act 2 might merc gives u 3 dmg auras, might/fanat/conc, fanat coming from beast of course

The fanatacism aura > any plus skills form AOKL/HOTO/Etc. Assuming you will have alot of other high-end gear (safe assumption if you can afford Beast), then you will have very high lvl skills in skels regardless of weapon.

like others have said pre-buff with other items then switch. I prebuff at lvl 45 RS/SM, if I don't switch I still raise my army at slvl 40 holding beast. Sometimes I forget to switch before I summon and even then my skellies never die. Seems like there is no better weapon in the game for a summoner to hold than beast.

also, infinity > pride if you have max mages.
