Uh….what would you be using it on…pvp or pvm…ww or kicker or claw ma? I think bartucs is underrated, but at the same time it’s really no match for some of the other options. I would up and um one on a ma or wwsin if I had no chance of getting funds to get chaos, fury, etc and I was already using a high stat req claw on other hand.

Don't know, that's why I'm asking. Maybe on a PvM phoenix striker or something.. :scratch: Is the dmg-increasement worth it?

For several reasons, most likely no.

1. Phoenix strikers do not depend on physical damage.
2. The damage increase it not that big anyway (the average damage goes from 121.5 to 139.5 for a perfect Bartucs, less than 15%).
3. You possibly lose one of the bigger benefits of Bartucs, +20 str/dex, in case you want something like a Jade Talon as secondary claw.

Tucs are great claws for a number of reasons, the damage isn't one of them but the low stat reqs are. I can't think of anyh situation where I'd suggest upgrading them instead of using other claws.

What the others said. Bartuc's are more "caster" claws than "melee" claws.

Yeah, they are just lovely on a HC trapper

But there are better options for anything else

On a similar subject, but different claw....

Does anyone actually use `Shadow Killer' ethereal battle cestus claws? They're really cool looking and the idea of them is cool and the req's are only 100/100 for a big old elite with 200+ damage.

I guess they're just not that great due to being -10 base, so not that fast? And no +skills, so totally reliant upon physical damage.

I guess what I'm asking is, what's the point of this Cestus when a cruel version of a faster claw gets the same damage, faster speed, and of course, looks better than a cestus? :undecided:

I guess it's a pure Tiger strike claw and that's about it?

i think there's a build out there called the immobilizer or frost maiden (assassin)..
it utilizes the claw's most unique ability, which is the +2 freeze target=)

EDIT: the ctc frost nova just adds a little more to the theme as well=)

Bleh... Bartucs are a useful claw to have around for when you need that 30FHR at no loss of speed... The catch is that generally the big +resists on Jade generally make it a nicer candidate for gaining the 30FHR. Bartucs is a claw to use versus Necros, but I know of some very good hybrid sins who use ebugged ones as a main claw.
