Starting a Fistadin

I've been thinking about making a Fistadin ever since I got the Vex rune from the casket (Catacombs Level 2). Because It means I can make the HotO runeword (i don't have the Ko rune yet though.)

So, any advice on Fistadins? How hard is it to get through SP with this guy?

* I don't really have anybody to play PvP with, I'm making this guy just because I want to see if he's a viable build in SP 1.11b.

Fistadin means you use fists... you probably mean FoH am I rite?

itd be hard/slow to kill off highly resistant monsters , if you add in some smite power with hoz grief swap then he shud do alright

Can't conviction deal with the immunities of resistant monsters?

[...]Conviction will remove immunities which will allow you or your party members to damage monsters that were previously untouchable with immunities. There is a cap of -150% resistance and you will not be able to remove some monster's immunities in hell level.
This aura, when breaking an immunity, will only function at 1/5 effectiveness.

Guess you'll still have some nuts left to crack.

for the ones you do break your foh will be doing very little damage, combined with its timered nature it would take 5+ minutes to take down highly resistant monsters, or they could be flat out immune even after viction

So, my weapon switch should be the one dealing with LI? What weapon switch do you suggest? I've never seen any Gilded Shield drop, let alone a HoZ.

Also, would you recommend Rift, or Voice of Reason? I prefer the voice because it's cheaper to make (took me forever to find a Hel, and I don't have a Ko yet, so I'm guessing I'll have six kids before I get the Gul.)

With a shield switch I say get a phoenix vortex shield and a Last Wish zerk axe . The firestorm from phoenix is nice and so is the 60% crushing blow That would kill those LI fast.

He's obviously playing SP so those runewords that you mention (which are made up of ALL hrs) are a bit out of reach for him atm.

If you were to use that vex for a hoto I'd suggest making a hammerdin. Easily the top character for pvm and with a hoto your hammers will be dealing enough damage to do any area.

For someone who is concerned about not being able to get a gul rune I think Last Wish+Pheonix is rather impossible let alone a waste of HRs. What weapon you use on back up depends on what skill you are going to use to deal with LI's. If smite you want something thas fast with some crushing blow, I like Black in a flail/scourge/knout. Its really cheap too.

@TheBassman - I understand that a hammerdin can do really good damage, and with a HotO on the way (still no Ko rune though) I think it'll be really viable. I'll consider your advice, thanks.

@saellison - Yep, Last Wish + Phoenix is pretty out of reach. Black is Thul-Io-Nef right? I think I can make one.

I guess I'll start both the hammerdin and fohdin and give the HotO to who I like better. Thanks everyone!
